About the role

We are looking to add a VP, Cybersecurity to our growing Information Technology Department. In this role, you will report to our SVP, Operations and work closely with our vCISO. As a VP, Cybersecurity, you will be responsible for overseeing the creation, execution, and administration of the organization's overall cyber defense plan. The ideal candidate will possess an extensive comprehension of informational technology and operational technology systems, with the goal of safeguarding our data assets and industrial control systems. We are looking for an individual who has robust leadership capabilities, technical knowledge, and experience in addressing the distinct obstacles that arise from converging IT and OT security measures.


This position can be based in our Austin, Castle Rock, or Denver office. Relocation assistance is available for non-local candidates.  


What you'll do

  • Lead the design and execution of a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy spanning IT and OT environments to protect critical assets and data.
  • Strengthen the organization's security posture by overseeing incident response, risk assessments, vulnerability management, and security audits.
  • Drive regulatory compliance and cloud security governance to ensure secure, resilient operations across all environments.
  • Optimize the allocation of the information security budget and vendor risk programs to align security investments with organizational priorities.
  • Build and develop a high-performing cybersecurity team while delivering clear, actionable risk reporting to executive leadership.
  • Cultivate a security-first culture through organization-wide awareness programs and proactive monitoring of the evolving threat landscape.


What you'll bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, or related field (advanced degree preferred); relevant certifications required (CISSP, CISM, CEH, or GICSP).
  • 10 -15+ years in IT security with 10+ years in a leadership role and strong project management experience.
  • Hands-on experience with IT and OT security, including ICS, SCADA, SIEM, EDR, and SOC tools.
  • Proven ability to develop cybersecurity strategies using established frameworks and Zero Trust architecture.
  • Deep knowledge of network security, endpoint protection, identity and access management, and data protection.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization.

Preferred

  • Prior leadership experience at a data center, hyperscaler or highly comparable infrastructure environment. 
  • Experience operating within a publicly traded company, navigating SOX compliance, strict regulatory governance, and public reporting rigor. 


Compensation and Benefits 

  • Competitive Salary: $230,000 - $250,000 base (commensurate with experience) + bonus + sign-on equity grant.
