About the Client

Our client is a well-established construction company with operations spanning multiple businesses, primarily in real estate and construction. They are committed to financial stability and operational efficiency, seeking a skilled professional to oversee and enhance their financial management processes.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join our client’s team. This is a virtual role with flexible hours, ideally from 8 AM to 3 PM (Monday-Friday, Western Time), to accommodate weekly meetings with the company’s leadership. The Financial Controller will play a critical role in ensuring financial accuracy, stability, and efficiency across multiple entities.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee financial stability across multiple companies, primarily in real estate and construction.

  • Supervise and validate the work done by the bookkeeper, ensuring accuracy in financial records.

  • Manage payroll oversight and ensure timely and accurate processing.

  • Handle collections and monitor accounts receivable, following up with sales staff on outstanding payments.

  • Ensure accurate coding of transactions and job tracking for financial clarity.

  • Generate and analyze financial reports to provide insights and support decision-making.

  • Identify discrepancies, rectify financial errors, and ensure compliance with financial best practices.

  • Communicate proactively with leadership on financial health and cash flow analysis.



RequirementsRequirements
  • Experience: 3-5 years in financial roles, preferably in a supervisory or managerial capacity.

  • Industry Experience: Background in real estate or construction is a plus but not required.

  • Skills & Tools: Proficiency in QuickBooks, OnPay, and AvidExchange.

  • Attention to Detail: Strong ability to spot financial inaccuracies and ensure correct reporting.

  • Analytical Thinking: Capable of providing insights on financial trends, reporting, and cash flow analysis.

  • Proactive Communication: The ideal candidate should be highly communicative and proactive in addressing financial matters.

  • Leadership: This role is focused on high-level financial management rather than data entry, requiring strong oversight and decision-making abilities.
