About AZX

Our mission is to accelerate positive impact in critical industries through AI transformation.

We’re growing quickly and already work with category-leaders in real estate (CBRE), energy (LevelTen Energy), logistics (Flexe), and utilities (Puget Sound Energy).

AZX is a public benefit corporation founded in 2024. We were profitable through bootstrapped consulting for the first year. In early 2026, we raised $6M to scale our operations and technology.

We work on challenges in clean energy, decarbonization, climate risk, energy systems, and global economics. We’re building our company for long-term success and aim to create the ultimate place to work for those passionate about AI and making a positive impact.

About the Role

You'll work with some of the most influential companies in utilities (your primary initial focus), real estate, and other critical industries to shape AI transformation strategy from first principles and see it through.

You'll operate as a true trusted partner to your clients, deeply integrated with their senior teams. At the same time, you're part of the connective tissue within AZX, working hand in hand with our engineering and project teams to bring the right capabilities to bear at the right time.

You'll lead strategy engagements across some of the most consequential challenges in clean energy, decarbonization, real estate, logistics, and beyond. You'll define the problem, design the solution vision, architect the business case, and help lead the transformation from start to finish.

This role is for someone who thinks independently, operates like a founder, and is genuinely motivated by impact.

What You Will Do

This is a senior, client-facing role with real ownership:

  • Own the strategic direction of AI/ML transformation for large client engagements. You set the vision, shape the roadmap, and are ultimately accountable for transformation outcomes.

  • Lead client strategy engagements from problem definition through transformation vision and execution planning.

  • Cultivate high-trust, high-accountability client executive relationships. These relationships are what allow our work to go deeper and deliver maximum impact.

  • Accountable for revenue and outcomes across your client portfolio, from initial scope through expansion.

  • Responsible for sourcing and closing new client engagements against an annual revenue target. You’ll be part of the team building the pipeline and running the process.

  • Work closely with client executive teams to envision and drive AI transformation and impact.

  • Lead innovation workshops with client teams to educate on AI/ML and guide the surfacing of AI/ML opportunities

  • Define what client problem(s) that need solving and why it matters

  • Shape the target state: what the transformation looks like by people, teams, technology, and day-to-day operations

  • Build the business logic: how this creates value, what it costs, what risks exist

  • Partner with AZX project management team to scope, staff, and manage engagements from kickoff through delivery

  • Partner with AZX engineering team on tech/AI build to deliver customer success while informing overall AZX platform direction

  • Contribute to the growth of our client strategy practice area - new offerings, approaches, and ways of creating value for clients.

  • Actively participate in industry events, trade shows, and speaking engagements to build AZX's presence and your own

Core Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver on a revenue target, from opportunity identification to close and expansion

  • Can develop and communicate a compelling transformation vision to a C-suite audience

  • Builds trust quickly with senior client stakeholders. Has navigated skepticism and come out ahead

  • Thinks in systems. Understands how technology, people, and process interact in real organizations

  • Comfortable owning outcomes, not just work streams

  • Strong business acumen. Can model value creation, articulate risk, and make a credible investment case

  • Experience working across multiple clients or projects simultaneously, at different stages, with competing priorities

  • Track record of contributing something new: a capability, an approach, a solution that didn't exist before

  • Genuinely passionate about AI. You build or vibe code on your own time, follow what's happening in the industry, and have an endless curiosity about what's possible.

Values and Culture Qualifications

  • High emotional intelligence and a learning mindset

  • Strong collaboration skills

  • Enjoy others' success and a fun, positive environment.

  • Comfortable making decisions in the face of ambiguity and course correcting as needed.

Other Qualifications (Not required, but a huge plus)

  • Deep domain knowledge in one or more of our core industries: clean energy, decarbonization, real estate, logistics, utilities. Utility experience is a strong plus: we want someone who understands the business, customer, operational, and regulatory landscape from the inside.

  • Experience working in or with early-stage companies or ventures

  • Familiarity with AI/ML capabilities and how they translate into business transformation (you don't need to build it, but you need to know what's possible)

  • Have been part of building something from scratch: a practice, a product, a company

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive early-stage startup compensation (based on capabilities, experience, and location)

  • Bonus eligibility

  • Health insurance with meaningful coverage for dependents

  • Flexible paid time off

  • Equity

  • Fully remote team

  • Training and learning opportunities

  • Be part of a fast-growing, mission-driven company with industry-leading clients tackling the massive opportunity of AI transformation in critical industries

Logistics

  • Remote, U.S.-based

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis

  • Willingness to travel for client meetings, AZX company events, and industry conferences and events

Next Steps – we want to hear from you!

If this job sounds like a fit, we’d love to hear from you. If you feel aligned to the company but don’t check every box, please apply anyway — we’d still love to meet you.
