Mission

TAR’s mission is to power intelligence for the world. We are building the world’s first off-grid power plant for data centers powered by renewable technologies.

We firmly believe AI should be built in the US for the benefit of all people. For that, power must be fast, clean and scalable. We are singularly focused on delivering GW-scale power faster than anyone has ever done, by rethinking every layer of the stack.

We vertically integrate to solve every bottleneck, from racking systems to power electronics to dispatch algorithms to on-site construction.

Leave your mark on the future of civilization-scale energy infrastructure.

Company

TAR is both a hardware and software company, we are building out massive, critical, physical infrastructure. TAR is working directly with one of the largest compute providers to scale and deploy 5GWs by 2028.

We operate on…

  • High ownership. High Agency. Own project end-to-end. Great people don’t need to be managed.

  • Speed. We achieve great things on incredible timelines. We push ourselves to go faster.

  • First principles. No ego. No hierarchy. Challenge every assumption.

  • Passion. Solving the energy problem is one of the largest challenges that faces the world now and in the future.

About the role

As VP of Commercial, you own that outcome: originating, structuring, and closing the multi-year capacity agreements with hyperscalers and AI compute buyers that anchor TAR's buildout. These are 8-10 figure contracts with a small number of counterparties, where a single deal can shape the company's trajectory.

There is no formal commercial function at TAR today. You will build it: the pipeline, the deal process, the pricing framework, the contract standards, and the first hires. You hold ownership of contracted revenue and deal terms. You will partner closely with finance on credit and project financing, legal on contract execution, and development and engineering on what capacity can be delivered and when, without losing single-threaded ownership of every deal.

Responsibilities
  • Own origination with TAR's highest-value counterparties, including hyperscalers, AI labs, and neoclouds, mapping decision-makers across infrastructure, energy procurement, and finance to build a pipeline matched to TAR's capacity roadmap.

  • Lead each deal end to end, from first meeting through term sheet, definitive agreements, and signature, driving against clear milestones.

  • Structure multi-year commitments, including take-or-pay, minimum volumes, exclusivity, pricing and escalators, credit support, and delivery milestones and remedies, that win the deal while protecting TAR's margins and bankability.

  • Build TAR's pricing and deal-economics framework with finance, tying every proposal to project cost, financing requirements, and risk allocation before it reaches a customer.

  • Translate customer requirements such as load, timing, redundancy, and location into commitments development and engineering can deliver, and hold the line on what TAR will and will not promise.

  • Stand up the commercial operating system, including CRM, deal review and approval, contract templates, and forecasting cadence, so leadership always has a clear view of pipeline, probability, and contracted revenue.

  • Hire and lead TAR's first commercial team members, such as deal leads, commercial analysts, and contract managers, and set the standard for how TAR sells.

  • Serve as the accountable executive owner for each customer relationship from signature through ramp, turning first contracts into expansions and repeat capacity.

Qualifications
  • 7+ years originating and closing large 8-10 figure contracts with long sales cycles. Including deals you personally led to signature.

  • Deep negotiation and deal-structuring fluency across multi-year commitments, take-or-pay, exclusivity, pricing, and credit terms, with the judgment to know which terms matter most.

  • A track record of building a commercial function from scratch, including designing the process, building the pipeline, and making the first hires.

  • Executive presence and direct communication with C-level buyers, investors, and lenders.

Nice to have
  • Experience in energy, infrastructure, or data centers, such as PPAs, colocation, or capacity leases.

  • Existing relationships with hyperscalers or AI compute buyers.

Salary and Benefits
  • Up to $15K relocation bonus

  • Unlimited PTO

  • Health, Dental, Vision insurance

  • $1K monthly stipend for meals
