Position Summary


Rimini Street is seeking a highly commercial, field-oriented VP, Global Pre-Sales to lead the worldwide pre-sales organization and serve as a key member of the CRO leadership team. This role is accountable for turning technical expertise into sales impact by improving win rates, accelerating deal progression, strengthening value-based selling, and ensuring the right pre-sales support is applied to the highest-priority opportunities.


The successful candidate will be a sales leader first, with the technical credibility to engage senior customer stakeholders and lead a global team of Solution Architects, Enterprise Architects, and Security Solution Architects. This leader will work directly with regional sales leadership and account executives on strategic pursuits, shape winning deal strategies, improve qualification and technical validation, and create a consistent global pre-sales operating model.


Reporting directly to the Chief Revenue Officer, this U.S.-based role may be performed remotely. Proximity to a Rimini Street regional hub or major city is preferred, as extensive regional travel is required.


Key Responsibilities


Sales Leadership & Deal Execution


  • Partner closely with the CRO, regional sales leaders, and account executives to advance strategic opportunities, improve conversion, and accelerate time to close.
  • Actively participate in high-value and complex pursuits, including deal qualification, account strategy, executive customer meetings, solution positioning, competitive differentiation, and objection handling.
  • Participate in pipeline and forecast reviews, identify technical or solution-related deal risk early, and define actions required to maintain momentum.
  • Ensure pre-sales leaders and architects connect technical capabilities to customer priorities, measurable business value, and compelling reasons to act.

Global Pre-Sales Strategy & Operating Model


  • Own the global pre-sales strategy and operating model, aligned to company growth priorities and regional sales plans.
  • Build a disciplined engagement and coverage model that directs pre-sales capacity toward opportunities with the greatest revenue potential and likelihood of success.
  • Establish clear performance expectations and business metrics, including pipeline supported, stage progression, win rate, sales-cycle impact, productivity, and forecast contribution.
  • Maintain accurate and timely pre-sales activity, opportunity support, and risk information in Salesforce.

Team Leadership & Capability Development


  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing global organization of pre-sales leaders and individual contributors across Rimini Street service lines.
  • Create consistency in discovery, solution selling, demonstrations, technical validation, business-value articulation, and executive presentations across regions.
  • Raise the commercial capability of the organization while maintaining the technical credibility required to support complex enterprise sales.
  • Partner with Sales Enablement to develop practical sales and technical enablement based on field needs, deal reviews, and lessons from wins and losses.

Customer & Market Engagement


  • Represent Rimini Street in executive customer engagements and at selected industry, analyst, and customer events.
  • Build credibility with senior customer stakeholders and help position Rimini Street services against business priorities and competitive alternatives.
  • Provide structured field and customer feedback to influence service-offering strategy, sales messaging, and future capability development.

Cross-Functional Partnership


  • Partner with Marketing, Product and Service leadership, Delivery, Legal, Finance, and Customer Success to strengthen positioning and remove barriers to sale.
  • Improve the end-to-end customer buying experience by ensuring alignment across solution design, commercial terms, delivery readiness, and customer outcomes.
  • Work with regional and functional leaders to resolve execution gaps and ensure clear ownership of actions required to progress strategic opportunities.

Required Experience and Capabilities


  • 15+ years of enterprise technology or services experience, including significant leadership experience in global or multi-region pre-sales, solution consulting, sales engineering, or a comparable technical sales function.
  • Demonstrated success leading a pre-sales organization that directly contributed to quota attainment and profitable revenue growth.
  • Strong track record supporting complex enterprise deals from qualification through close, including mid-six-figure and seven-figure transactions.
  • A highly commercial mindset, with the ability to balance technical depth, customer value, deal strategy, and sales urgency.
  • Experience creating and managing global coverage, capacity, prioritization, performance, and talent models for a distributed pre-sales organization.
  • Executive presence and credibility with CIOs, CTOs, CFOs, procurement leaders, and other senior customer stakeholders.
  • Experience selling enterprise software, technology services, managed services, support services, security services, or other complex recurring-revenue offerings.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle and/or SAP enterprise environments is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and globally distributed organization.

Up to 50% travel, based on business needs, including travel to Rimini Street office locations, regional team meetings, industry events, and strategic customer opportunities.


Education


Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required; advanced degree preferred.

The general salary range for this type of role is 190k - 280k (plus commission) depending on skills and experience. The actual compensation offered will ultimately be based on several factors such as: a candidate's location, and the level of applicable skills and professional experience. Rimini’s target pay for each position is available upon request during the applicant’s Interview process.
