As the Regional Vice President (RVP) of operations in our Austin office, you will direct and coordinate the regional office's operation, including underwriting, claims, loss prevention, premium audit, insurance business development and other functions of the company. The RVP is also responsible for maintaining community and customer relations with local leaders, large accounts, and agents. You will help to maintain and expand the company’s presence in the community and at charitable activities.

In this role, you can expect to:
Serve as the lead executive and oversee all operational aspects of the regional office.
Champion business development efforts by actively coaching and developing team members, modeling best practices, and cultivating a results-driven sales culture.
Partner with other regional management to provide excellent product and service delivery.
Develop, direct, and evaluate regional budgets, plans, and policies.
Collaborate with management teams to develop and implement plans for the regional infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel.
Foster and maintain relationships within the local employer and agent communities.
Oversee regional Agency Advisory Council (AAC) and serve as key point of contact to the Council.
Assist divisional management in developing guidelines and procedures for regional operations.
Analyze the competitiveness of product and service offerings, including agency compensation in the region.
Analyze the marketplace from regional agent and policyholder perspectives.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regional underwriting and marketing trends.
Identify regional customer target groups and collaborate with regional underwriting teams to develop regional underwriting and marketing production plans.
For management of assigned operations, you will:
Contribute to the establishment of division strategies and objectives.
Develop and implement business systems and technology solutions which support division strategies and objectives.
Advise senior management on operational and/or financial issues as requested.
Develop and oversee implementation of division goals and objectives, policies, standards, procedures, budgets and ensure they support the overall goals and objectives of the division.
Foster and maintain relationships with stakeholders, Board of Directors, and other company leadership.
Participate in meetings, seminars, and events that provide information and education on relevant industry trends and topics.
Develop and implement actions and plans within the division which support customer service.
For personnel management of the division, you will:
Recruit, coach, and mentor employees.
Ensure that appropriate policies, procedures, staffing, and training are in place to provide for the effective operation of the region.
Set and communicate performance and behavioral expectations, training, and development plans, providing regular feedback on employee performance and taking actions as necessary to improve performance and behavior.
Develop and implement staffing models and organizational structure and processes, and revise models as business requirements, processes, and technologies change.
It's required that you have:
A bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, or experience.
10 or more years of experience with insurance carrier, agency, or related insurance operations or equivalent education, training, or experience.
Thorough knowledge of Texas workers' compensation law, and Department of Workers' Compensation & Texas Department of Insurance rules and processes.
A valid Texas driver's license or available alternate means of transportation.
It would be great if you have:
Experience serving as a formal or informal leader. Adept at managing complexity, valuing differences, demonstrates self-awareness, and communicating effectively.
Professional insurance designations such as: Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Associate in Risk Management (ARM), or Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC).
Business development or sales experience.
