Lead Wastewater Projects That Make a Real Impact

GBA is seeking a Wastewater Project Manager who enjoys leading engineering teams, solving complex challenges, and delivering infrastructure projects that matter.

Our Water Environment teams work with municipal clients across Texas to improve wastewater treatment systems, modernize infrastructure, and support long-term environmental stewardship.

If you enjoy both technical problem solving and project leadership, this role provides the opportunity to do both.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead engineering design for wastewater treatment plants and collection systems
  • Guide multidisciplinary project teams through complex infrastructure projects
  • Provide technical review and direction on engineering deliverables
  • Support hydraulic modeling, process evaluation, and rehabilitation design
  • Mentor project engineers and developing staff
  • Collaborate with Water Environment teams across multiple regions

What You'll Bring:

You are an experienced wastewater engineer who enjoys solving technical challenges and helping teams deliver successful projects.

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, biological engineering, agricultural engineering, or a related field.
  • 12+ years of relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • Multi-state licensure or ability to obtain licensure in KS, MO, NE, or TX preferred.
  • Have experience in municipal infrastructure with wastewater treatment as a plus.
  • Enjoy guiding engineering teams and mentoring staff.
  • Build trusted relationships with municipal client.
  • Take pride in delivering high-quality engineering solutions.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

  • Ability to work on computer for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.

Travel:

  • Ability to travel as needed (15%-30%) based on job level and expertise for project site & field visits, conferences, training, and professional outings.
  • Occasional day trips or overnight travel may be required, including other GBA offices.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license and an insurable driving record under the company’s insurance carrier requirements to operate or rent vehicles for business purposes.
