Phunware adds nearly $27M to existing funding round
Phunware raised $22 million in November of 2016, the second tranche of funding from a previous Series F round that began in 2015. On Wednesday of this week, the company raised an additional $26.7 million amended to the existing round, according to an SEC filing with the state. RigUp raises $15.8M Series B, plus $30M in credit
RigUp, an Austin-based marketplace matching service providers with oil and gas jobs, announced this week that it has secured $15.8 million in funding led by Quantum Energy Partners and Global Reserve Group. Silicon Valley Bank also granted RigUp up to $30 million in credit to help support the company’s growth revenue stream. RigUp will use the funding to expand its sales and product teams. Restream secures $2.5M in funding
According to an SEC filing with the state, digital media startup Restream closed a $2.5 million round of funding on Feb. 1. Eleven investors participated in the round, which brings Restream’s total funding raised to over $3.1 million since its 2015 launch. Employee Wow raises $1M seed round
Employee Wow, a new Austin startup that measures employee performance anonymously, announced on Wednesday that it has raised a $1 million seed round from Hong Kong-based investor Sean Tomlinson. PeopleAdmin acquires Performance Matters
PeopleAdmin, the Austin-based talent management platform, announced last week that it has acquired Performance Matters. Based out of Utah, Performance Matters develops analytics solutions serving K-12 education. Through the merger, PeopleAdmin will now offer a comprehensive K-12 talent management system. Car2Go celebrates 3 million members
Austin-based Car2Go announced this week that it officially hit 3 million members in January, marking a 30 percent year-over-year growth in 2017. For reference, it took the company four years to hit one million members when it launched in 2010. By 2016, the company had exceeded two million members. Car2Go provides on-demand smart cars and Mercedes-Benz car sharing in 26 locations across three continents. [Press Release]
