Logistics company Shipwell announces $10M in Series A funding

Shipwell, a marketplace and logistics platform for ground shipping, has officially raised $10 million in its Series A funding round. Fifth Wall Ventures, investor to numerous construction companies, led the round, with Global Founders Capital, First Round Capital, Base 10 Ventures, Capital Theory and Village Global also participating. Meet the 4 Austin startups on CNBC’s Upstart 100 list

Congratulations are in order for the teams at data.world, Hypergiant, Jask and RigUp. The four companies were honored this week by CNBC as part of the media company’s annual “Upstart 100” list. Of more than 500 nominees, CNBC ultimately chose the winners based on scalability, sales growth and customer growth. [Statesman]

Hospitality startup The Guild raises $9M, reveals expansion plans

Earlier this week, Austin-based hospitality startup The Guild announced it had secured $9 million in Series A funding. Founded in 2016, The Guild rents apartments to travelers on a nightly basis, encouraging individuals to “immerse themselves into the neighborhood.” This latest round of funding will be used to expand The Guild’s inventory, with expansion to Miami and Cincinnati in the works, and plans for a Denver launch by the end of the year. YETI is back on track for possible $100M IPO

Back in March, makers of cult-favorite coolers YETI announced it was dropping plans for its hotly anticipated IPO. Now, the plan is officially back on, with YETI filing the necessary paperwork to launch an IPO of up to $100 million on the New York Stock Exchange.
