As the world continues to undergo a digital shift, more companies have come to rely on cloud technology to tackle their IT-related projects. However, these cloud-centric skills don’t necessarily come naturally. For this reason, A Cloud Guru offers a SaaS solution that facilitates cloud learning, and it’s getting acquired by Pluralsight to meet growing market demand for this service.

Pluralsight is a technology workforce development company based out of Silicon Slopes, Utah. It offers expert-led courses on tech like AI, machine learning and data science to help teams develop critical skills and better their product-building processes.

“Technology is the number one differentiator for all businesses and the technology skills of your team is what determines success or failure. Nowhere is that more apparent than with cloud technologies,” Aaron Skonnard, co-founder and CEO of Pluralsight, said in a statement. “To meet the needs of our customers and best support their cloud transformations, we are determined to deliver the most comprehensive solution for driving cloud maturity at scale.”

A Cloud Guru provides hands-on cloud skills development software consisting of features like certification courses, hands-on labs and exams. To date, the company’s product has served 2.5 million users and more than 4,500 organizations.

“ACG and Pluralsight were founded to solve the same problem — closing the technology skills gap by democratizing access to technical education,” Sam Kroonenburg, A Cloud Guru’s co-founder and CEO, said in a statement. “Both approaches have proven to resonate strongly with customers who want depth and breadth in tech education. I am excited by the next phase of our mission in which, together, we will build the next-generation platform for hands-on learning across all of technology.”

The transaction is set to close sometime later this year, subject to customary closing conditions. In the meantime, A Cloud Guru is continuing its recent growth and is currently hiring for several remote-friendly roles based in its Austin headquarters. Roles span the company’s HR, operations, project management and sales teams.
