More About the Role:
At Leidos, we are tackling some of the most critical challenges in national security and government modernization. As part of one of our largest Department of Defense (DoD) contracts, we are assembling a cutting-edge team to drive process improvement and operational efficiency through the development and deployment of AI, ML, and intelligent automation technologies.

We are seeking innovative and driven individuals to help build tools, agents, and automation solutions that directly impact mission success—whether streamlining back-office operations or augmenting decision-making capabilities in complex, high-stakes environments.

This work spans both mission-facing DoD solutions and internal Leidos enterprise initiatives, giving team members the opportunity to contribute to operational excellence across a variety of domains. These roles are critical to delivering measurable impact through intelligent technology.

What You'll Get to Do:
•Work on real-world problems where your solutions enable people to focus on high-value tasks while technology handles the rest.
•Support development of AI-enabled tools in collaboration with senior engineers.
•Learn and assist with integrating LLM APIs and basic NLP capabilities.
•Participate in agile development cycles, incorporating feedback from stakeholders and ensuring constant delivery of value.
•Track progress and tasks using Jira or Azure DevOps.
•Attend stakeholder meetings to gather requirements and demonstrate progress.
•Design and deploy AI tools, autonomous agents, and workflow automations that reduce friction in government and enterprise operations.
•Collaborate across teams to ensure technology is aligned with user needs and compliance standards.
•Work within secure environments, ensuring solutions meet GovCloud, cybersecurity, and Authority to Operate (ATO) requirements.
•Help document secure development environments and compliance processes.

You'll Bring These Qualifications:
•BS degree and a minimum of 2 years combined experience building software and AI solutions.

•Must be a US Citizen and have an active Secret Security Clearance.
•Experience with automation development (e.g., RPA tools, Power Automate, scripting).
•Familiarity with AI/ML concepts, including LLMs or NLP, even in a limited capacity.
•Exposure to integrating APIs and building end-user solutions.
•Comfortable working with ambiguity and learning new technologies.
•Strong problem-solving and documentation skills.
•Familiarity with Jira or ADO for task and project tracking.
•Willingness to learn secure DevSecOps practices and compliance protocols.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
•Experience working in government, DoD, or secure environments.
•Exposure to tools like OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, LangChain, or vector databases.
•Basic knowledge of prompt design or chatbot development.
•List additional skills and experience that are “nice to have” but not required.

NGEN

Come break things (in a good way). Then build them smarter.

We're the tech company everyone calls when things get weird. We don’t wear capes (they’re a safety hazard), but we do solve high-stakes problems with code, caffeine, and a healthy disregard for “how it’s always been done.”
