Role Description

The Billing & Payments Engineering Manager is a direct leader who bridges technical leadership with people management. You will be responsible for the technical direction, development, delivery, operations of core billing & payment functions, Revenue management, finance integrations on Zuora platform, GCP cloud  based Kotlin services, and Salesforce CRM. This involves fostering a high-performing and collaborative engineering environment, mentoring team members, and driving the adoption of modern software development best practices within the Salesforce, Zuora and GCP ecosystem. You will work closely with Product Managers, Solution Architects, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into robust and scalable technical solutions that align with the long-term business roadmap.


In this role, you’ll:

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing team of billing & payments domain specific Engineers, focusing on their career development, technical growth, and day-to-day delivery execution.
  • Drive the architectural vision and technical roadmap for the billing & payments functions on the Zuora platform and its integrated applications, prioritizing scalability, security, and performance.
  • Collaborate with Product Management, business analysts, and cross-functional stakeholders to translate complex business needs into prioritized, scalable technical solutions.
  • Oversee the design, development, and deployment of complex programmatic Zuora, Salesforce and GCP Kotlin based solutions and integrations with other enterprise systems (e.g., CRM, SAP etc)
  • Work with cross functional stakeholders for billing operations including but not limited to issue resolution, data remediations etc

At a minimum, we would like you to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in the billing & payments domain specific eco system with at least 5 years in a formal leadership or people management role.
  • Experience in managing and building fast changing apps, and managing high volume, real time APIs with high traffic.
  • Experience in the billing & payments platform with project management acumen, including the ability to accurately estimate scope, deconstruct complex problems into manageable deliverables, and adapt effectively to evolving requirements.
  • Previous hands on experience with Java/Kotlin languages.

It’s preferred if you have:

  • Experience in development and management roles in Telecom/ISP industry
  • Extensive experience with Zuora billing platform and Salesforce CRM is highly desirable
  • Experience in Google cloud
  • Ability to multi-task, and can quickly switch context and be able to work on multiple projects.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $209,600 - 271,000 + bonus + cash award + benefits. As pay varies by location, your recruiter will share more about the specific salary range for your targeted location during the hiring process.
