We are seeking a highly motivated Bioprocessing Sales Specialist to drive commercial growth and market adoption of the OPUS® Pre-Packed Chromatography Column portfolio across the Midwest and Southeast regions. This customer-facing role is responsible for growing revenue through new business acquisition, strategic account expansion.
The successful candidate will serve as the regional subject matter expert for OPUS pre-packed columns, partnering closely with Business Account Managers, Product Management, and Applications. This individual will support customers throughout the sales cycle, from early process development discussions and resin selection through scale-up and commercialization.
The ideal candidate possesses a strong hunter mentality with a proven track record of creating opportunities, penetrating target accounts, and driving growth within existing customers. Success in this role requires a combination of chromatography expertise, commercial acumen, and the ability to position OPUS as the preferred chromatography column platform for biopharmaceutical manufacturers.

Responsibilities

  • Drive revenue growth and achieve or exceed sales targets for the ELISAs, OPUS Process Development and Large Scale pre-packed chromatography column portfolios, including opportunities involving Repligen chromatography resins.
  • Build, manage, and maintain a healthy pipeline of opportunities through proactive prospecting, customer engagement, networking, and strategic account planning.
  • Partner with Business Account Managers to identify and develop opportunities across biopharmaceutical, CDMOs, and emerging biotech accounts.
  • Serve as the technical and commercial expert for OPUS columns, supporting customers through process development, scale-up, tech transfer, validation, and commercial manufacturing.
  • Develop trusted relationships with key stakeholders including process development scientists, manufacturing leaders, purification engineers, and procurement teams.
  • Conduct customer visits, technical presentations, facility tours, and product demonstrations that advance opportunities and strengthen customer relationships.
  • Position OPUS as the preferred chromatography column platform by demonstrating its technical, operational, and economic advantages.
  • Clearly articulate the value of integrated downstream purification solutions.
  • Maintain accurate forecasting, opportunity management, and sales reporting within Salesforce (SFDC).
  • Provide market intelligence, competitive insights, and customer feedback to support portfolio growth and product strategy.
  • Represent Repligen at industry conferences, technical seminars, customer workshops, and regional marketing events.

Qualifications


Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific or engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in bioprocessing sales, technical sales, applications support, process development, or downstream manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of downstream purification processes and chromatography technologies.
  • Proven track record of growing sales territory through new opportunity creation, account penetration, and expansion of existing customer relationships.
  • Demonstrated hunter mentality with the ability to uncover opportunities, create demand, and successfully close business.
  • Experience with Salesforce (SFDC) or similar CRM platforms.
  • Experience using LinkedIn Sales Navigator and other prospecting tools i.e. global data, zoom info.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively within a cross-functional team environment.
  • Experience selling chromatography resins, pre-packed columns, filtration products, or other downstream bioprocessing technologies.
  • Knowledge of affinity, ion exchange, hydrophobic interaction, and mixed-mode chromatography applications.
  • Willingness to travel up to 65% domestically with occasional international travel.

The estimated base salary range for this role, based in the United States of America is $136,000.00 - $195,500.00 . Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to an individual's qualifications, location, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, employees are eligible to participate in one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package. We offer a wide range of benefits such as paid time off, health/dental/vision, retirement benefits and flexible spending accounts.
