Job Description:
Easy Street Capital is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Collateral Management Specialist to oversee the custody, tracking, perfection, and administration of original loan collateral throughout the entire lifecycle of residential mortgage loans.
This position plays a critical role in protecting the Company's collateral by ensuring original loan documents are properly received, tracked, perfected, maintained, transferred, and released. The Specialist will serve as the primary liaison between title companies, custodians, county recording offices, warehouse lenders, investors, servicers, attorneys, and internal departments to ensure collateral is complete, enforceable, and readily available for financing, securitizations, loan sales, and audits.
The ideal candidate possesses exceptional organizational skills, understands mortgage documentation, and is passionate about maintaining accurate collateral records while meeting strict investor and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the receipt of original loan collateral packages from title companies, settlement agents, attorneys, and closing partners.
- Review incoming collateral for completeness and accuracy.
- Track outstanding collateral packages until fully received.
- Maintain an accurate collateral inventory within the Company's tracking systems.
- Ensure all original collateral is securely stored or shipped to the appropriate document custodian.
- Maintain complete chain-of-custody records for all original documents.
- Serve as the Company's primary point of contact with third-party document custodians, including Computershare.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent industry experience.
5+ years of experience in mortgage operations, collateral management, document custody, loan servicing, post-closing, or secondary marketing.
Strong understanding of residential mortgage documentation including:
Promissory Notes
Mortgages
Deeds of Trust
Assignments
Allonges
Title Insurance Policies
Recorded Instruments
Experience working with document custodians preferred.
Experience coordinating with county recording offices.
Familiarity with mortgage servicing and loan sale transactions.
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
