Description

Anchor closed $40M in top-tier VC funding and grew 500% last year, transforming the $74B services payments market. Our platform automates billing and collections so businesses can focus on growth.

We’re hiring an AI-First Compliance and Risk Manager to own and scale our compliance operations as Anchor grows. This is a hands-on role where you will run the day-to-day compliance function - KYB/KYC, transaction monitoring, investigations, documentation - while continuously implementing AI and automation to eliminate manual work and keep pace with our hyper-growth.

Anchor is growing fast, and compliance operations need to scale with it. You will be expected to build and automate the systems that make that possible - using AI to handle the volume, surface the risk, and keep everything audit-ready - without adding headcount for every new workflow. The job is to run a tight, automated compliance operation that keeps Anchor safe and moving.

Reporting to the COO. Hands-on operator. AI hands-on experience. Deeply tech-savvy- you build and configure tools yourself; you don’t wait for someone else to set them up. Analytical. Integrity-driven. High-energy.

The AI-First Mandate

Anchor is AI-first and growing fast. This role requires someone who actively uses AI to scale compliance operations without scaling headcount - automating triage, document review, case narratives, monitoring, and follow-up. The expectation is that you already do this, can name what you have built, and will bring that operating model to Anchor from day one.

Responsibility
  • Lead KYB/KYC and CIP onboarding workflows - identity verification, OFAC screening, sanctions analysis, EIN/TIN validation - using AI-assisted review queues to prioritize cases and surface high-risk signals faster.
  • Serve as the primary client-facing compliance contact - guiding clients through onboarding, conducting verification calls, and making risk-based decisions, including EDD/PEP reviews, informed by AI-generated summaries and risk scores.
  • Conduct and document alert investigations across fraud, AML, sanctions, and financial crime indicators, using AI tooling to accelerate triage and focus human judgment where it matters.
  • Assess and document case findings in a clear, consistent manner aligned with audit expectations and regulatory documentation standards.
  • Use AI-powered analytics to optimize monitoring rules, improve control effectiveness, and identify emerging risk vectors before they become regulatory exposure.
  • Develop and maintain compliance documentation - playbooks, case files, training materials - using AI to keep everything current and audit-ready without manual overhead.
  • Act as a partner to internal and external auditors.
  • Maintain and update compliance documentation and policy materials - BSA/AML program docs, risk assessments, and internal policies - keeping them current with regulatory requirements and Anchor’s growing product surface.
  • Support banking partner and sponsor bank relationships - preparing compliance documentation, responding to audit requests, and coordinating due diligence reviews.
  • Monitor regulatory changes across payments and fintech and flag updates that require operational or documentation changes before they become gaps.
  • Use AI to monitor regulatory developments and maintain a living compliance roadmap that keeps Anchor ahead of its obligations.
  • Collaborate cross-departmentally and with Product and R&D teams to build and implement compliance safeguards into new product features.
Requirements
  • 3-5 years of experience in AML, BSA compliance, financial crime operations, fraud investigations, or regulated payments environments (fintech experience preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing compliance processes such as KYB/KYC onboarding, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, and case investigations - and using AI tools to run them more efficiently.
  • Proven ability to make independent, risk-based decisions and apply sound judgment to ambiguous or time-sensitive situations.
  • Strong written communication skills with experience drafting regulatory-grade case narratives, decision rationales, and operational documentation.
  • Compliance documentation experience. Comfortable maintaining and updating BSA/AML program docs, risk assessments, and internal control documentation. Familiarity with what banking partners and regulators expect to see.
  • Hands-on AI experience in a compliance or operational context. You can name the tools, the workflows you have automated, and the measurable impact.
  • Experience with ACH payment systems, payments infrastructure, or SaaS billing platforms (preferred but not required).
  • Personal attributes: analytical, structured, dependable, proactive, and integrity-driven; able to challenge assumptions, improve processes, and operate with both autonomy and accountability.
