Dematic has an immediate need for an Electrical Controls Engineer in our Project Engineering group a. The preferred candidate will have 2-5 years related experience, including planning, specification, and implementation of engineering design projects. This role would report into an Engineering Manager. The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $72,750 - $106,700 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

Tasks and Qualifications:

What you will do In This Role:​

  • Leads the design of complex systems that integrate hardware and software.
  • Works heavily with Dematic Multi-shuttle Systems (DMS) and Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs)
  • Provides support in complex material specification, schematic preparation, bill-of-materials development, and appropriate follow-up.
  • Recommends ideas related to productivity improvement, cost reduction and improvement in customer satisfaction.
  • Performs important areas of standard professional level work that typically requires processing and interpreting more complex, less clearly defined issues.
  • Defines a path to solution of complex or unusual problems to others.
  • Identifies and resolves readily identifiable, clearly defined problems.
  • Seeks-out growth and knowledge in a specific technical area.
  • Leads complex projects through the project life cycle, including all documentation and forecasting, referring unusual situations to others.
  • Lead a team of engineers and take accountability for successful execution of projects.
  • Create robust staffing and execution plans.
  • Manage project budgets and proactively identify plans to mitigate cost overruns.

What We Are Looking For:

  • BS in Engineering or a related field.
  • 2+ years of related experience.
  • Experience with both Siemens TIA Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and Allen-Bradley Studio 5000.
  • Willingness to travel ~40%-60% domestically.
  • Demonstrates a good grasp of knowledge and principles of warehouse automation.
  • Motivated, Self-Driven, Results Oriented
  • Successfully applies knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of a particular area of conveyance and sortation equipment.
  • Able to commission critical path work independently.
  • Able to troubleshoot electrical issues that arise on site.
