JOB SUMMARY: 
The Corporate Controller is responsible for leading global accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls for one of our portfolio companies. This role partners closely with the CFO and executive team to ensure accurate, timely, and insightful financial information that supports decision-making and scalable growth.

The Corporate Controller will oversee the global close process, consolidation, audit coordination, and accounting policy, while driving process improvements, system optimization, and compliance with US GAAP. This role will also support M&A activity, including purchase accounting and integration, and ensure effective revenue recognition practices in a SaaS environment (ASC 606).

This position leads a global accounting team and plays a key role in strengthening financial infrastructure in a PE-backed, high-growth environment. The Corporate Controller will play a key role in building scalable processes, enhancing data integrity, and supporting continued growth and operational maturity.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Own and maintain the integrity of the company’s general ledger, chart of accounts, and global financial reporting structure.
  • Lead the global monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with US GAAP, including reconciliations, account analysis, intercompany accounting, and multi-currency consolidation.
  • Establish and maintain accounting policies and procedures in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Establish policies and processes for software revenue recognition, including review of contracts and use of subsystems (Maxio) to ensure revenue is recorded in accordance with current revenue recognition policies (ASC 606) and processes are effective to ensure compliance. 
  • Ensure compliance with all country, federal, state, and local corporate, payroll, and other applicable taxes and regulations.
  • Establish and ensure compliance with internal controls.
  • Manage and improve weekly reporting.
  • Review and ensure accurate and timely computation and payment of payroll, commissions, bonuses and all other payroll expenses.
  • Full coordination of annual US GAAP audit and the gathering of required audit information, preparation of financial statements & footnotes, and preparation of tax accounts.
  • Direct the daily activities and the career development of team members, including hiring, coaching, reviewing work, establishing goals and performance management of global team members. 
  • Strong communication with executive leadership and senior leaders throughout the organization.
  • Own and optimize the ERP and financial systems ecosystem (NetSuite, Maxio, Airwallex), ensuring data integrity and system scalability. 
  • Drive process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency and reduce close timelines.
  • Lead accounting integration from acquisitions as well as valuation of intangibles and purchase accounting.
  • Support board and investor reporting through accurate, timely, and reliable financial information.
  • Partner with FP&A to ensure alignment between financial reporting and SaaS operating metrics (ARR, bookings, churn, retention)

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS or BA in Accounting with CPA license
  • 8-10 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership in a high-growth or PE-backed environment.  
  • Experience within a SaaS or software environment required.
  • Strong technical and PC skills (particularly Microsoft Excel). 
  • Experience with NetSuite required; experience with Maxio and Airwallex a plus
  • Strong and broad experience in accounting and ability to apply strong US GAAP knowledge to business scenarios.
  • Exposure to and strong understanding of software/technology revenue recognition required.
  • A superior level of initiative and drive.
  • Passion for instituting effective and efficient processes and controls.
  • Communication skills for credibility at all levels of the organization.
  • Natural sense of ownership for projects and duties and innate desire to lead by example and drive business progress forward.
  • Ability to drive change effectively across functional areas and amass the necessary resources to meet all deadlines and initiatives.
  • Experience establishing and standardizing best practices and effectively relaying procedures to department.
  • Experience managing a global team and entity structure for a US based company.
  • Skilled in managing the entire quote to cash lifecycle for enterprise clients. 
  • Ability to effectively work in a fast paced environment within a PE owned company.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Natural curiosity and adept problem solving skills. (Willingness to ask the second or third question if something doesn’t make sense to you) 
  • Strong organization skills are critical.
