Job Description:
What you'll do:
  • Develop machine learning infrastructure and data pipelines that improve data quality.
  • Use machine learning frameworks in both development, testing, and production environments to create and deploy new technologies.
  • Identify opportunities for data science to improve current products and practices for business engineering teams.
  • Create machine learning algorithms to optimize and deliver results by reducing computational complexity, increasing the accuracy of models, and improving business metrics.
  • Perform data ET, statistical and analytical analyses, and communicate insights and recommendations to Chewy management to make informed decisions.

What you'll need:
  • Minimum Requirements: Master's degree in Science, Business Analytics, Industrial Engineering or related field and 3 years of experience as a Data Scientist.
  • Experience must include 3 years of experience with the following:
    • Building, deploying, and scaling ETL pipelines and machine learning models in production environments using services such as Lambda, Glue, S3, Athena, and SageMaker;
    • Querying, transforming, and managing large-scale datasets using distributed computing frameworks and cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake and Spark;
    • Developing, training, and evaluating both supervised and unsupervised models for experimentation and business optimization using libraries such as Scikit-learn, PyTorch, and TensorFlow;
    • Python, including building reusable and modular components for ETL and machine learning pipelines;
    • Familiar with tools and frameworks like Docker and PySpark;
    • Designed and developed interactive dashboards and custom visualizations for KPIs, experimentation results, and performance monitoring using tools such as Tableau, Matplotlib, and Seaborn; and
    • Designed, implemented, and analyzed models and other experiments to drive data-informed decisions and improve product and user experience.

The base salary range for this role is $118,893 to $175,000 per year
  • The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant. C08+ positions may also be eligible for annual bonus.
