Datacenter MPU Product Manager

Role Overview

You will own the end-to-end product strategy and execution edge MPUs, bridging market needs and engineering innovation. This role is ideal for a product leader who can speak both engineering and business—someone who innovates silicon features to solve system level challenges, driving solutions that enable use cases in the datacenter, networking and 5G, and industrial automation.

 

What You will Drive

  • Product Vision & Roadmap: Define and own the product execution for AI-enabled edge MPUs, aligning with market trends and customer needs.
  • Product Ownership: Translate market problems into clear Product Requirements Documents, feature specs, and phased roadmaps; make data-driven trade-offs across silicon area, power, performance, and BOM.
  • Technical Influence: Collaborate with engineering on architecture decisions and innovations for heterogeneous compute, AI acceleration, real-time processing, security, and connectivity.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Lead cross-functional teams (engineering, go-to-market, sales, applications, operations) throughout the product lifecycle ensuring alignment and successful execution.
  • Market Leadership: Develop competitive positioning, value propositions, and go-to-market strategies to win in relevant segments.
  • Business Impact: Build data-driven business cases and pricing strategies that deliver revenue growth and market share.
  • Lifecycle Ownership: Lead products from concept through launch, adoption, and sustained success.
  • Technology Evangelist: Represent NXP at industry events, engage key customers, and create impactful technical content.
  • Go-to-market execution: Work with engineering, applications, sales, FAEs, customers, and partners to drive adoption of MPUs.

 

Your Background

  • BS in Computer Science, Electrical, or Computer Engineering (MS/MBA a plus).
  • 10+ years in product management, product marketing, customer management, or systems engineering for MPUs, SoCs, or embedded systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to turn customer requirements into actionable specs for hardware, software, and systems teams.
  • Strong understanding of heterogeneous compute architectures (CPU/GPU/NPU/DSP), memory systems, and interconnects.
  • Solid understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) concepts, algorithms, frameworks, and toolchains.
  • Familiarity with edge AI applications, including computer vision, natural language processing, and sensor fusion in embedded systems.
  • Working knowledge of Arm cores, PCIe, and Ethernet.
  • Proficiency in market analysis, competitive analysis, and business case development.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear and compelling product messaging.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced industry.
  • Initiative-taking and purposeful with a passion for innovative technology.

 

What Sets You Apart

  • Experience in datacenter architectures and use cases.
  • Familiarity with NXP processors, especially Layerscape and S32N devices.
  • Understanding of security topics, also including post quantum crypto.
  • Experience with embedded software development, operating systems (Linux, RTOS), and developer toolchains is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and people skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of an organization.
  • Strategic thinker with a passion for innovation and operational excellence.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams and executive stakeholders.

 

This role requires domestic and international travel to engage customers, partners, and internal teams across regions.
