Coherent is seeking a Demand Manager / Planner within the Semiconductor Devices Business Group to lead demand planning and demand management activities that improve visibility, coordination, and responsiveness across the supply chain. This role is expected to enhance demand transparency, enable better allocation of manufacturing and fab capacity, and support faster response to evolving customer needs.

The role requires extensive knowledge of demand planning, fab and production planning, and capacity alignment within a manufacturing environment. Operating in a complex, global organization, the Demand Manager / Planner partners closely with Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, and Manufacturing teams to translate demand signals into executable production and capacity plans. Success in this role will be demonstrated by improved forecast accuracy, stronger demand-to-capacity alignment, and improved customer fulfillment performance.
 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead demand planning and demand management activities for the Semiconductor Devices Business Group.
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve demand forecasts using historical data, market intelligence, and customer inputs.
  • Serve as the focal point for demand visibility and coordination across Sales, Operations, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams.
  • Facilitate cross-functional demand review processes to align forecasts with capacity, supply, and business priorities.
  • Drive improvements in forecast accuracy, demand signal quality, and planning processes.
  • Support capacity planning and allocation decisions through clear, data-driven demand insights.
  • Partner with Sales and Commercial teams to understand customer demand drivers, market trends, and changes in customer requirements.
  • Identify demand risks and opportunities; proactively communicate impacts and mitigation options to stakeholders.
  • Enable faster response to customer needs by improving demand-to-supply alignment and planning cycle effectiveness.
  • Develop and maintain demand planning metrics, dashboards, and reporting for leadership review.
  • Promote best practices in demand planning and contribute to continuous improvement of planning capabilities, tools, and processes.

Education & Experience

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Operations, or a related field required
  • Master’s degree or advanced supply chain certification preferred

Experience

  • 10–12+ years of relevant experience in demand planning, supply chain planning, or related disciplines, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • 5–7 years of managerial and/or leadership experience, with responsibility for planning, coordination, and team or functional leadership
  • Demonstrated experience applying advanced demand planning and fab/production planning concepts within a manufacturing or technology environment; semiconductor industry experience preferred
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence outcomes in a matrixed organization

Skills

  • Extensive knowledge of demand planning, fab and production planning, and capacity management in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of supply chain planning, S&OP / IBP processes, and demand-to-supply integration
  • Advanced analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
  • Experience with ERP systems and demand planning tools
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to manage complexity, ambiguity, and changing priorities
  • Results-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
  • APICS / ASCM certifications (CPIM, CSCP, or similar) preferred
  • Collaborate in a professional and respectful manner with coworkers, vendors, contractors, etc. 

Working Conditions

  • Office or hybrid work environment
  • Collaboration with global teams may require flexible working hours
  • Occasional travel may be required

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working at a computer
  • Ability to communicate effectively in meetings, presentations, and virtual environments
  • Ability to lift and carry light materials as required
