Why Digi
At Digi International, you won't spend your first few years maintaining someone else's legacy system. This role puts you at the center of how we build and use AI — across internal operations, product strategy, and team enablement. You'll write real code, evaluate cutting-edge models, and help shape how a global IoT company adopts AI. It's a rare entry-level opportunity with genuine strategic exposure from day one.
About the Role
Digi International is building an increasingly sophisticated set of internal tools, AI pipelines, and automation systems to accelerate how we operate and compete. This is a generalist role for someone who wants to write code, keep systems running, build glue, and grow into AI strategy work — all at the same time. You'll own the development and operations of internally-built applications, cloud infrastructure, help evaluate AI models and tools, and play a key role in how Digi's teams adopt AI in their day-to-day work. This is an entry-level position designed for someone technically sharp, curious, and eager to build real things that matter.
Responsibilities
Application Development & Operations
- Build, maintain, and improve internally developed applications and automation pipelines
- Manage deployments, environment configuration, and CI/CD workflows for selfware projects
- Write glue code, integrations, and scripts to connect tools, APIs, and data sources
- Monitor system health, triage issues, and iterate toward more reliable, maintainable systems
AI Strategy & Model Evaluation
- Research and test AI models — cloud-hosted and local — for product and internal use cases
- Run structured evaluations comparing models on performance, cost, latency, and fit
- Support product and engineering teams in identifying where AI creates real leverage
- Track developments in the AI landscape and surface relevant findings to the team
Internal AI Enablement
- Partner with the Digi AI team to develop and deliver AI training programs across the broader organization
- Host regular workshops and lunch-and-learns to help Digi employees build practical AI skills
- Build training materials, guides, and playbooks for AI tools and workflows
- Support teammates in getting productive with AI — answering questions, running demos, troubleshooting
- Contribute to internal standards for responsible and effective AI use
