FloSports is a world-class sports media company strategically positioned to be the essential  destination for passionate sports fans, delighting them with live event coverage, breaking news,  highlights, stats, rankings, and team and player profiles. We are growing Our Sports every day  by continuing to invest in our ever-expanding ecosystem, which consists of over a dozen sport  verticals and hundreds of streaming partners. FloSports is creating the home for college  conferences/leagues and sports like grappling, hockey, track & field, racing, cheer, wrestling,  and more, and we are looking for innovative and passionate people like you to help us!

THE ROLE:

FloSports is looking for a Director of Performance Marketing to lead paid subscriber acquisition across Paid Search and Paid Social. Paid Search represents the larger share of our paid media business, making deep expertise in Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising (Bing) especially important.

You will own channel performance, budgets, and campaign execution while managing and developing a small team of paid media managers. This is a hands-on leadership role: you should be comfortable building campaigns, reviewing account structure, troubleshooting performance, and making optimizations directly in the platforms.

Our business spans multiple sports with distinct seasons, audiences, and major events. Success requires sound prioritization, close attention to performance, and timely budget decisions to capture demand while meeting acquisition and return targets.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Own paid acquisition performance. Lead Paid Search and Paid Social strategy and execution, delivering subscriber and revenue growth within agreed acquisition cost and return targets.

  • Lead Paid Search execution. Build, audit, and optimize Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising campaigns, including account structure, keyword coverage, search terms, negative keywords, bidding, budgets, and ad copy.

  • Manage budgets and forecasts. Own budget pacing and channel forecasts. Reallocate investment across sports, events, and channels based on demand, performance, and business priorities.

  • Develop a small team. Manage and coach a small team of paid media managers, setting clear priorities and quality standards. Review their work, build their skills, and directly support campaign execution when needed.

  • Diagnose and address performance gaps. Review results daily and weekly, identify what is driving changes, and take corrective action. Partner with Business Intelligence and Product to investigate tracking or conversion issues.

  • Plan for sports seasons and major events. Coordinate campaign launches, budget pacing, and coverage around key moments, including weekend and holiday support.

  • Run disciplined tests. Build a practical testing plan across search tactics, audiences, creative, landing pages, and offers. Document results and apply successful approaches to other campaigns.

  • Apply AI to campaign operations. Build and improve AI-powered tools and workflows that reduce manual work, improve campaign quality, and support faster decisions. Validate outputs and measure their impact on team efficiency and campaign performance.

  • Connect acquisition to subscriber value. Use customer acquisition cost, return on ad spend, and available retention and lifetime value data to guide investment. Partner with Business Intelligence to improve measurement and understand incremental impact.

  • Keep partners aligned. Work with Integrated Marketing and Creative to align priorities, communicate asset needs, and confirm campaign readiness and launch status.

  • Communicate clearly. Provide concise performance updates that explain results against plan, what changed, actions underway, and any decisions or support needed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in performance or acquisition marketing, with a track record of delivering measurable B2C growth.

  • At least 3 years of direct people-management experience leading and developing a small team, including junior marketers, while retaining hands-on campaign responsibilities.

  • Deep, recent hands-on Paid Search experience in Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising, including campaign builds, bidding, optimization, and troubleshooting.

  • Strong working expertise in Paid Social, particularly Meta, with the ability to evaluate campaign setup, audience strategy, creative performance, and optimization decisions.

  • Proven ownership of substantial paid media budgets, including forecasting, pacing, and reallocating spend to meet business goals.

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to distinguish campaign, tracking, demand, and conversion issues—and turn findings into specific actions.

  • Recent experience building or co-developing AI-powered tools or workflows that improve paid media execution, such as budget pacing and allocation tools, keyword builders, campaign QA, or performance diagnostics. Must be able to explain your contribution, how outputs were validated, and the resulting improvements in efficiency or performance. Experience should extend beyond native advertising platform features such as Performance Max or automated bidding.

  • Experience using attribution, customer acquisition cost, return on ad spend, and customer lifetime value to inform decisions.

  • Strong organization and follow-through across multiple campaigns, deadlines, and cross-functional partners.

  • Clear communication, sound judgment, and accountability for both your own work and your team’s results.

BONUS

  • Experience in subscription businesses, streaming, digital media, sports, or another highly seasonal business.

  • Experience supporting multiple brands, product lines, or customer segments.

  • Experience with incrementality testing, marketing measurement, or media mix modeling.

  • Current or previous Google Ads and/or Microsoft Advertising (Bing) certifications; active certification is not required.
