Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Epic Claims Analyst to support a healthcare organization with hands-on Epic Claims configuration, build, testing, and optimization. This role requires a highly skilled and independent Epic builder with strong knowledge of claims workflows and revenue cycle operations. The ideal candidate will be comfortable completing complex build assignments, troubleshooting issues, and translating operational requirements into effective Epic solutions.

This is an initial 3-month contract with the possibility of extension. The consultant must be available to travel onsite approximately 2-3 times during the initial contract period.

Responsibilities
  • Perform complex, hands-on Epic Claims build and configuration.
  • Evaluate current claims workflows and identify opportunities for system improvement.
  • Translate business and operational requirements into effective Epic build solutions.
  • Configure, test, validate, and implement Epic Claims functionality.
  • Troubleshoot claims-related system issues and complete root-cause analysis.
  • Support claims processing, billing, reimbursement, and related revenue cycle workflows.
  • Collaborate with revenue cycle, operational, and technical stakeholders.
  • Participate in workflow design and system optimization sessions.
  • Develop and execute unit, integrated, and user acceptance testing.
  • Resolve build defects and support system validation activities.
  • Maintain accurate build documentation, testing materials, and workflow specifications.
  • Provide knowledge transfer and support during implementation and stabilization activities.
  • Travel onsite as required to support project milestones and stakeholder collaboration.

Requirements
Required Qualifications
  • Current Epic Claims certification.
  • Extensive hands-on experience building and configuring Epic Claims functionality.
  • Strong Epic Revenue Cycle experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex Epic build assignments.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare claims, billing, reimbursement, and payer workflows.
  • Experience gathering requirements and translating them into system configurations.
  • Experience with testing, troubleshooting, issue resolution, and system optimization.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and operational teams.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Availability to travel onsite 2-3 times during the initial 3-month contract.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Additional Epic Revenue Cycle certifications.
  • Experience supporting Epic optimization, implementation, upgrade, or enhancement projects.
  • Knowledge of charge capture, denial management, billing, and reimbursement processes.
  • Previous consulting experience within a complex healthcare environment.
