Superlanet is seeking an Epic Interface Engineer for our healthcare client in Texas. This is a direct hire, remote opportunity (potential travel for important organizational milestones) supporting a large-scale healthcare environment focused on interoperability, clinical integration, and post–Epic go-live optimization initiatives.
The Epic Interface Engineer is responsible for the development, implementation, support, and optimization of real-time and conversion interfaces between Epic Systems and third-party healthcare applications. This role will focus heavily on Epic Bridges, HL7 integrations, interface troubleshooting, workflow optimization, and operational stability across the Epic ecosystem.
The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on interface development experience within Epic environments, deep knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards, and the ability to collaborate across clinical, operational, and technical teams to ensure seamless data exchange and system performance.
- Design, develop, implement, and maintain Epic Bridges interfaces and integration solutions
- Support HL7 real-time and conversion interfaces between Epic and ancillary healthcare systems
- Troubleshoot interface issues, data discrepancies, transmission failures, and workflow interruptions
- Partner with clinical, operational, vendor, and technical teams to support interoperability initiatives
- Perform interface testing, validation, upgrades, and change management activities
- Support post–Epic go-live stabilization and ongoing optimization efforts
- Monitor interface performance and proactively address integration issues
- Participate in workflow analysis and recommend technical improvements to enhance operational efficiency
- Maintain interface documentation, support procedures, and technical specifications
- Assist with production support, issue escalation, and root cause analysis activities
- Ensure adherence to organizational integration standards, security policies, and ITIL best practices
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 4 years of interface development experience
- Minimum 2 years of interface development experience within an Epic environment
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on Epic Bridges experience
- Experience designing, building, and supporting HL7 real-time interfaces
- Epic certification in Interface Development required
- Strong troubleshooting, integration, and workflow optimization experience
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional technical, operational, and clinical teams
- Strong understanding of healthcare interoperability standards and integration methodologies
- 6+ years of healthcare IT and interface development experience
- Experience supporting post–Epic go-live optimization and stabilization environments
- ITIL Foundation certification preferred
- PMP certification preferred
- Experience supporting ancillary systems integrations and third-party healthcare applications
- Familiarity with healthcare integration engines and interface monitoring tools
