About Base

Base is America’s next-generation power company. We’re rebuilding the foundation of modern civilization–electricity–by deploying a vast network of distributed batteries that is transforming today’s fragile, centralized grid into a resilient and abundant system. We are engineers, operators, and creatives solving some of the most complex, interdisciplinary challenges of our time.

About the Role

We are seeking a Financial Systems Engineer to design, implement, and scale our financial systems ecosystem, with a primary focus on ERP platforms and integrated finance tooling. This role sits at the intersection of Finance, Accounting, Operations, and Engineering and will play a critical role in enabling accurate financial reporting, scalable processes, and operational automation as the company grows.

You will be responsible for translating business requirements into technical solutions, architecting system integrations, optimizing workflows, and ensuring data integrity across the financial technology stack.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, maintain, and support the Finance Systems architecture across GL, AP, AR, Revenue Recognition, Fixed Assets, Tax, Intercompany, Consolidation, and Treasury modules.

  • Configure, implement, and optimize ERP platforms, including participation in system evaluations and migration projects.

  • Collaborate with Finance and Accounting teams to convert business and compliance requirements into functional system configurations.

  • Improve close performance and reporting accuracy by streamlining system workflows and reducing manual dependencies.

  • Build and maintain integrations between ERP and connected platforms including HRIS, Treasury, Expense, Procurement, CRM, WMS, and Tax tools.

  • Manage system environments including sandbox testing, release deployment, configuration documentation, and change control.

  • Develop automation solutions to reduce operational overhead while maintaining data accuracy and audit-ready records.

  • Document financial workflows and controls, identifying inefficiencies and recommending system enhancements.

  • Support standardized operational processes across procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, record-to-report, and inventory workflows.

  • Provide technical support and systems expertise to Finance, Accounting, Tax, and IT teams.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field; CPA or advanced degree a plus.

  • Hands-on experience implementing, configuring, and maintaining ERP financial systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Workday Financials, Oracle Cloud, or similar enterprise platforms.

  • Experience operating in fast-scaling, multi-entity environments, ideally supporting product-based, inventory-heavy, or software-driven businesses.

  • Working knowledge of SQL, Python, or scripting languages used for automation, reconciliation, and data quality validation.

  • Strong foundation in accounting and financial operations, including financial reporting, revenue recognition, treasury functions, and internal control frameworks, with familiarity in US GAAP, ASC 606, and SOX standards.

Our Values
  • First Principles Thinking: Question assumptions. Principles > rules.

  • Operate at Base Pace: Focus on what matters, act quickly, and learn by doing.

  • Give & Get Feedback: Be direct, be humble, and maintain a growth mindset.

  • Everyone’s an Owner: Follow through on commitments and own results.

  • Strong Opinions, Loosely Held: Drive clarity and make calls with imperfect information.

  • Committed to the Mission: Rebuilding the grid is a big challenge. We work hard because we care deeply about the impact we’re creating. We work in-person. It’s not a 9-to-5. We are all-in.

  • Fun & Optimism Coexist with Grit: Collaboration and celebration coincide with the intensity of building real things.

Do the best work of your life at Base.
