Swan is seeking an analytical and detail-oriented Fraud & Risk Analyst to join its Payments Risk team. This role is fundamental to protecting Swan and our clients from financial crime and security threats. The ideal candidate is laser-focused on ensuring the integrity of our platform, and excels at prioritizing issues and using analytical tools to identify suspicious activity to keep Swan and its clients safe.
Your responsibilities- Case Investigation: Conduct daily reviews of user accounts and transactions flagged for suspicious activity by our monitoring systems.
- Threat Analysis: Perform thorough investigations into fraud alerts, account takeovers, and other security incidents to determine root causes, assess risk, and take decisive action.
- Loss Prevention: Proactively identify and mitigate financial losses resulting from payment reversals, unauthorized transfers, and other fraudulent activities.
- Process Improvement: Identify gaps in current fraud detection and prevention processes and contribute ideas to enhance our tools, rules, and workflows.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with our Client Services, Product, Security, and Engineering teams to share findings, resolve complex cases, and strengthen Swan’s overall risk posture.
- 3+ years of experience in a relevant field such as fraud prevention, client services, trust & safety, or administrative processing in a fintech setting
- A reliable and consistent work ethic, with the ability to independently manage and prioritize a daily case load
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written communication skills for documenting case findings and collaborating effectively with internal teams
- Comfortable working independently in a remote-first environment using tools like Slack
- Experience working at a fintech, banking, investing, or Bitcoin company, preferred
- Proficiency with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel/Google Sheets, SQL) to identify trends and patterns, preferred
- Familiarity with ACH, wire transfers, and associated fraud vectors, preferred
- Must be able to work within standard US business hours
- Compensation for this role will be based on location and experience, and may include base salary, equity, benefits
Remote pay range (based on location and experience)
$60,000—$90,000 USD
