About Clerk

Clerk is a globally-distributed team dedicated to providing a best-in-class developer experience, with obsessive attention to every detail. Today, we provide developers with React components like , , and . These components allow developers to drop authentication and user management into their applications. We believe that a component is worth a thousand APIs.

What you will do

As a Growth Marketer, you will help accelerate growth by scaling and optimizing our most effective acquisition channels. Leveraging your marketing expertise, particularly in engaging developer communities, you will ideate on, execute, and maintain creative marketing experiments to improve awareness and adoption of Clerk. This is a high-autonomy role for someone who thrives when given real ownership, as opposed to tasks.

In this role, you will:

  • Own full channel lifecycle: Strategy, execution, optimization, and performance accountability for your channels. You decide what to test, when to scale, and when to sunset.

  • Run high-velocity experiments: Design and execute creative, low-friction tests to increase reach and adoption of Clerk among developers.

  • Track & report performance: Measure the impact of your experiments and communicate learnings with clarity. Your north star is driving activated sign ups.

  • Stay ahead of developer trends: Keep a pulse on what our target audience cares about and find new ways to naturally reach them.

Who you are:

We are looking for a unique personality and skill-set. The ideal persona is someone that is self-driven, able to wear multiple hats, understands our core ICP, and can find comfort in chaos.

  • You’re in North America: You live in a location that is ±3 hours within U.S. Mountain Time (MDT, UTC−06:00).

  • Proven channel scaling experience: You've taken at least one growth channel from early traction to meaningful, repeatable contributions. You can point to specific results.

  • Expertise in at least one of our key channels: YouTube creator partnerships, Answer Engine Optimization (AEO/GEO), Open Source sponsorships, or Paid Social. Deep experience in one; familiarity with others is a plus.

  • You are competitive: You are driven by outperforming yesterday and climbing your way to the top of each challenge you face.

  • Self-directed and autonomous: You identify impact opportunities on your own rather than waiting for assigned tasks. You're comfortable operating with ambiguity and minimal direction.

  • You’re detail oriented: You understand what details matter and how to disseminate important information to the rest of the Clerk team.

  • Data-driven decision maker: You approach experiments with hypotheses, interpret metrics to guide strategy, and know when to trust your instincts.

  • You're a creative problem-solver: You have strong intuition and are comfortable with experimentation and iterative learning. You thrive on finding creative solutions to complex challenges.

  • Bonus: You have experience marketing to developers or technical audiences

Benefits:
  • Competitive Salary – We want you to know that we value the skills and experience you bring to the table. We go out of our way to make sure that you feel fairly compensated.

  • Equity Ownership – At Clerk, we believe in shared success. That's why we offer a stock option plan so that everyone can benefit from the growth and prosperity of the company.

  • Health Coverage – We care about your well-being. That's why we offer top-tier health insurance to ensure that your health needs are fully met.

  • Work Gear - Set up your ideal home office with the gear of your choice. At Clerk, we want to ensure that you have everything you need to perform at your best.

  • Flexible Vacation Policy – We believe in work-life balance and trust you to take the time you need. Although we recommend 25 days per year, our vacation policy is unlimited. This is in addition to observing national holidays specific to your country of residence.

  • Diverse and Inclusive Team – Join our exceptional, diverse, and globally distributed team at Clerk. We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where everyone can contribute their best in building impactful products and tools for the modern web.
