Job Title: Business System Analyst

Location: Austin, TX / Dallas, TX  

Reporting to: Senior Manager, Insurance Product Operations

About You: 

We are looking for a Homeowner Business System Analyst who is accountable for the management and translation of business projects into engineering requirements. As a member of the insurance business team, this position works closely with Engineering to accurately portray business project needs into clear engineering deliverables.

What You'll Do: 

  • Work with other members of the Insurance Product and Engineering Teams supporting our core projects related to rating, underwriting, forms, and business rules
  • Update various internal and external documents which outline the project needs into clear engineering instructions
  • Maintain daily communication with Engineering partners to ensure projects are completed by set deadlines
  • Maintain source of truth and library documentation on existing programming structures
  • Perform post production testing to ensure completeness and accuracy of product changes
  • Meticulously create and update various engineering-oriented programming files that serve as source of truth for our product offerings
  • Assist with defect resolution by performing individual policy look ups and problem solving

Must Haves: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in a business or analytical discipline
  • Three or more years of experience in a related business systems analysis and technical implementation roles within the Personal Lines Insurance sector
  • Ability to partner with and understand both insurance business and technical platform engineering concepts
  • Strong analytical skills, advanced proficiency in Excel
  • Experience writing engineering product tickets that outline business needs 

Nice to Haves: 

  • Prior experience with a Top 20 Personal Lines Homeowners writer
  • Prior Homeowner Insurance experience
  • A solid understanding of Personal Lines Insurance
  • Experience with SQL, Jira, Confluence, VBA Editor tools
