About Quotewell

Quotewell is a modern wholesale insurance partner built to help retail agents place commercial risks faster and with less friction. We’re a Series A startup with deep roots in both insurance and technology, and as a tech‑driven wholesale brokerage, we’re transforming an industry long held back by manual processes and outdated systems. Our “Human+” approach fuses advanced AI with human expertise to move faster and smarter than traditional wholesale brokers.

The Role

We’re looking for a motivated intern to join our team and help scale our wholesale operations. This is a hands‑on role where you’ll learn how commercial risks move through the system, how producers manage relationships and pipelines, and how technology transforms workflows. You’ll help us tell our story to agents while also helping move real deals across the finish line.

What You’ll Do
  • Craft Marketing Materials Collaborate with leadership and brokerage teams to develop compelling marketing collateral, case studies, and email campaigns that help agents understand how Quotewell helps them win.

  • Support Real Insurance Deals Work alongside producers and underwriters throughout the quote‑bind‑issue lifecycle. Assist with organizing submissions, gathering missing information, and ensuring fast, accurate turnaround for our partners.

  • Engage Directly With Agents Participate in client communication, help manage relationships, and ensure agents receive a white‑glove experience throughout the submission process.

  • Work With AI Tools Use our proprietary AI systems to extract data, analyze risks, and streamline workflows. See firsthand how technology accelerates underwriting and producer operations.

  • Understand Risk & Workflows Observe how risks are classified, evaluated, and routed. Learn how producers assess fit, carrier appetite, and placement strategy.

  • Market & Industry Research Conduct light research on industries, carriers, and risk classes to support producer decision‑making and marketing initiatives.

What You’ll Learn
  • How commercial risks are evaluated and moved through the wholesale/E&S marketplace

  • How producers manage pipelines, prioritize opportunities, and build strong retail relationships

  • How submissions flow from intake to quote to bind — and where bottlenecks typically occur

  • How technology and workflow design improve speed, accuracy, and broker experience

  • How communication, documentation, and follow‑through impact placement success

  • How different lines of business (GL, property, contractors, environmental, etc.) vary in risk profile and underwriting needs

  • How modern wholesale brokerages combine human expertise with AI to operate at scale

Who You Are
  • Curious, proactive, and excited to learn how commercial insurance works

  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment

  • Strong communicator who enjoys working with people

  • Organized and able to manage multiple tasks at once

  • Interested in risk, operations, sales, marketing, or tech‑enabled business

What You’ll Gain
  • Hands‑on experience supporting producers and navigating real commercial insurance workflows

  • Exposure to sales, operations, marketing, and risk‑evaluation concepts

  • Mentorship from experienced producers, underwriters, and leaders

  • A strong foundation for future roles in sales, brokerage, operations, marketing, or insurtech

  • Consideration for future full‑time roles based on performance

Program Details
  • Duration: 10–12 weeks (Summer)

  • Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid)

  • Compensation: Competitive hourly rate

  • Eligibility: Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

What we offer our full-time employees

  • Competitive salaries + equity in the company

  • Medical, Dental, and Vision healthcare benefits + FSA and HSA options

  • Flexible vacation policy to recharge and live life

  • Paid membership to One Medical for employees, spouses / domestic partners, and dependents

  • Company-sponsored 401K plan (Roth & Traditional)

  • Paid parental leave, generous family forming benefits and up to $5,000 of reimbursements through Carrot

  • Up to $1,000 in home office reimbursements to build a productive space to work remotely

  • An opportunity to work on solutions that are redefining the future of commercial insurance

  • A culture driven by a focus on impact, a shared growth mindset, empowered individuals, and integrity
