Job Description SummaryAs a member of the Steam Turbine Design Engineering team, you will contribute to the complete design and upgrade of steam turbines, including Core ITR projects and Other OEM reverse-engineering activities. The role involves creating detailed 3D models and releasing manufacturing drawings in accordance with applicable standards. You will be responsible for technical reviews, vendor coordination, and follow-ups to ensure equipment and systems are delivered on time, meet the highest quality standards, and fully comply with codes, standards, and contractual requirements. This position is a technical lead role, with responsibility for mentoring and guiding engineers.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Leading the design of steam turbine components like, HP, IP and LP sections, bearings, flanges, valves and blading.
  • Leading the design & Detailing of various steam turbine components like casings, bearing pedestals and bearings, rotors, blades, diaphragms, couplings etc-.
  • Lead the design and preparation of manufacturing drawings for Other OEM components based on reverse engineering.
  • Prepare relevant design and quality documentation and layouts using CATIA in accordance with appropriate standards and design rules.
  • Define material specifications for various steam turbine component.
  • Carry out necessary calculations and analysis related to these components (using company software, spreadsheets or hand calculations)
  • Collect, analyze and provide resolution on technical data from vendor, site or customer.
  • Meet deadlines for documentation (maintain On Time Delivery), quality and budgets.
  • Support technical tendering with mechanical design inputs Provide Engineering support to sourcing department to source and execute various steam turbine components.
  • Solve Non-Conformance Reports arising during manufacturing and erection at shop/site.
  • Supporting tendering Process with Technical Tendering Layout and Retrofit Solution.
  • Collaborate with global & cross-functional team of internal Steam Turbine Engineers and external stakeholders (Drafting/Global Supply Chain) enabling & fostering mutual technical growth and delivering for our customers
  • Solve Non-Conformance Reports arising during manufacturing and erection at shop/site.
  • Supporting tendering Process with Technical Tendering Layout and Retrofit Solution.
  • Collaborate with global & cross-functional team of internal Steam Turbine Engineers and external stakeholders (Drafting/Global Supply Chain) enabling & fostering mutual technical growth and delivering for our customers

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with minimum ten years of relevant experience
  • Familiarity with steam turbine design and working principles, including reverse engineering of large capital spare parts lite rotor and rotor and casing of OEM and other OEM 
  • Familiarity with modern engineering tools, norms and design rules
  • Experience in layout design or design analysis of turbo machinery components
  • Knowledge of the manufacturing processes involved for steam turbine components - Knowledge of CATIA V5. Other 3D CAD software could be considered if willing to adapt to Company software like RPDM/PLM /GTCC including Geomagic Design X & Control X.
  • Effective planning, organization and presentation skills including the ability to priorities and plan work
  • Fluent in English language
