This internship offers hands-on experience supporting real-world modernization projects that drive innovation, improve operational performance, and accelerate digital transformation across process industries.
 
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Research and analyze market trends, competitor activities, and modernization strategies across the industrial automation landscape.
  • Monitor product developments, acquisitions, and emerging technologies to support strategic business initiatives.
  • Develop competitive insights, executive summaries, strategic reports, and customer-focused recommendations.
  • Assist in the development and evaluation of AI-enabled tools that support modernization assessments and migration planning.
  • Contribute to initiatives involving machine learning, large language models, analytics, and intelligent engineering workflows.
  • Support the creation, testing, and validation of AI-generated outputs against engineering standards and modernization best practices.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to improve AI-assisted engineering processes and solution delivery.
  • Participate in customer modernization projects by supporting system assessments, migration planning, and technology evaluations.
  • Assist with the development of engineering deliverables, including system inventories, modernization roadmaps, architecture diagrams, migration strategies, and business case analyses.
  • Support laboratory demonstrations, proof-of-concept initiatives, and customer-facing solution presentations.
  • Assist with configuration, testing, and validation of automation hardware, software, and virtualized environments.
  • Develop dashboards, reporting tools, data visualizations, and presentations that communicate project insights and business value.
  • Research emerging technologies such as Industrial AI, Digital Twins, virtualization, cloud computing, industrial cybersecurity, and advanced operator interfaces.
  • Support innovation initiatives focused on improving project execution, reducing risk, and enhancing customer outcomes.

For This Role, You Will Need:
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing positively within a collaborative team environment.
  • Interest in industrial automation, digital transformation, data-driven innovation, or technology modernization initiatives.
  • Availability to participate in a hands-on internship supporting technical and business-focused projects.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
 
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
  • Currently pursuing a master's degree in chemical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
  • Experience with Python, SQL, software development, or data analytics tools.
  • Familiarity with artificial intelligence, machine learning concepts, and large language models.
  • Exposure to industrial automation, manufacturing systems, or process control environments.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, Power BI, Microsoft Copilot, Azure, or related digital technologies.
  • Knowledge of industrial networking, industrial cybersecurity, cloud technologies, or virtualization concepts.
  • Interest in competitive intelligence, business strategy, market analysis, or technology consulting.
  • Experience creating dashboards, reports, data visualizations, or executive-level presentations.
  • Demonstrated curiosity for emerging technologies and a passion for continuous learning.
