The Optometric/Ophthalmic Assistant is responsible for providing direct patient care to patients seen in the Optometry or Ophthalmology departments. He or she will ensure the safety and comfort of patient and families according to legal, organizational and professional standards.

Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Current BLS through American Heart Assoc
  • 1+ year previous Medical Assistant or Optometric Assistant experience if not a graduate of an approved Medical/ Optometric Assistant program.
    Or
  • 6+ months experience and be a graduate of an approved Medical/Optometric Assistant program.
  • Able to use equipment and related supplies for selected patient population. CRT experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certified as an OA
  • 1+ year in optometric setting
  • Windows bases computer skills
  • Able to use NCT, Autorefractor, computer related equipment, Lensometer and able to perform Kreadings

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $18.00 to $36.00 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
