IEM is currently seeking a Planning Supervisor for our Jacksonville, FL locations and will report into the Planning Manager. This position is primarily responsible for supervising the daily activities of the planning team and coordinating production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements while maximizing manufacturing efficiency. The Planning Supervisor provides hands-on leadership to Production Planners, Schedulers, and Production Control personnel, ensuring accurate planning, effective communication, and timely execution of production schedules. 

Please note: This position requires 100% in-office presence in our Jacksonville, FL offices and does not offer remote work. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Supervises the daily activities of the Production Planning, Scheduling, and Production Control team
  • Coordinates with Production leadership to develop and execute production schedules that support on-time customer delivery.
  • Monitors production schedules and works with manufacturing supervisors to resolve scheduling conflicts and production constraints.
  • Ensures accurate job sequencing to optimize efficiency and minimize lead times.
  • Tracks schedule adherence and recommends schedule adjustments based on shop floor conditions.
  • Escalates work order delays, material shortages, and capacity concerns to management while coordinating timely resolutions.
  • Maintains accurate production schedules and planning data within the ERP/MRP system.
  • Assists in estimating manufacturing times for assemblies and supports continuous improvement efforts to improve production flow and reduce cycle times.
  • Tracks and reports production planning Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to management.
  • Promotes standardized planning processes and supports Lean Manufacturing initiatives within the department.
  • Trains, coaches, and develops planning team members while fostering collaboration and accountability.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational objectives. 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience, including demonstrated leadership, will be considered.
  • 5+ years of experience in production planning, scheduling, supply chain, or manufacturing operations.
  • 2-4 years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment, preferably with multiple product lines or high-mix/low-volume production.
  • Experience supporting Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with Operations, Engineering, Purchasing, Sales, and Customer Service.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems; exposure to S&OP processes or planning systems is preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated initiative, accountability, and the ability to develop into higher levels of leadership within the organization.
