The Associate Director of Finance supporting the Raytheon Planning Team offers a unique opportunity to help drive Raytheon’s transformation in response to the supply-constrained defense market. Raytheon’s customers need increased volumes of munitions and other defense products, creating a need for scale across Raytheon’s production ecosystem. Sitting at the intersection of functional planning and Finance, the Associate Director of Planning Finance will influence Raytheon’s input material planning, capacity investment, and procurement, among others.

The Planning Finance Associate Director is responsible for strategically driving the analytical and financial interface to the functional planning team as well as coordinating with SBU and Functional Finance stakeholders to align business operational and financial commitments. This role will be responsible for driving target inventory levels for Raytheon’s key growth programs; driving investment to ensure optimal Material Order Coverage in our factories while managing the financial implications of inventory. Additionally, this position will be responsible for developing, maturing, and managing Supply Chain AR/CFRs. The AR/CFR portfolio is a critical tool in accelerating key materials for our factories, including long-lead material, Rare Earth Elements, Plant Stock and RFC Enablement, among others. Finally, this role will partner with functional leadership to manage indirect and pool budgets for the planning team.

Success in this role requires strong executive communication skills, a proactive leadership style, top-notch analytical skills, the ability to influence cross‑functional stakeholders, and a mission-focused mindset. Successful candidates will have experience building high-performing teams while also being fully comfortable getting involved in the details and execution of critical processes.

What You Will Do

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage the full financial cadence around strategic Supply Chain AR/CFRs and other tools to accelerate material, creating a value-add process that supports business needs

  • Identify optimized target inventory levels to ensure material availability for critical growth programs and a process to manage/track the financial results

  • Coordinate across SBU and Functional Finance to drive alignment between planning and Raytheon’s financial commitments

  • Ensure aligned quantities between SBU Finance and Planning functions, validating that orders are appropriately planned and required investment is secured

  • Lead strategic capacity investment support with financial business case analysis

  • Conduct constraint analyses to support investment initiatives and improve material availability in Raytheon’s factories

  • Provide budgetary support for S&OP planning functions (direct, indirect CER pools)

  • Act as a catalyst for data‑driven decision making

  • Ability to solve complex problems and turn ambiguous or incomplete data into strategic actions

  • Must demonstrate a strong sense of initiative and personal drive, actively seeking opportunities to improve processes, strengthen supply chain performance, and support organizational transformation

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years experience.

  • Experience supporting supply chain, operations, or manufacturing environments

  • Ability to travel to support critical initiatives

  • Experience with financial modeling, analytical, and quantitative skills

  • Executive communication experience, including executive-quality PowerPoint creation

  • Experience in Excel modeling

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required.  U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Higher education in Finance, business, or related field

  • Proven ability to create broad-based consensus through influential communication

  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred).

  • Exposure to analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau, etc

The salary range for this role is 157,200 USD - 298,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
