About the Role

We are seeking a PLM Product owner to serve as the functional lead and product-facing representative for our PLM ecosystem, including platforms such as Teamcenter and Centric. This role operates at the intersection of engineering, business teams, and IT architecture, acting as the key contributor in bridging business needs with scalable PLM solutions.

This is not a pure development role. Instead, this individual will function as a PLM product owner and domain expert, guiding stakeholders toward standardized, supportable, and scalable processes across the product lifecycle.

The ideal candidate brings a balance of functional PLM expertise, technical fluency, and strong facilitation skills, with the ability to influence decisions, improve adoption, and bring structure to environments with evolving governance and design practices.

What You'll Do

PLM Product Ownership & Stakeholder Alignment

  • Serve as the functional product owner and domain representative for PLM platforms (e.g., Teamcenter, Centric)
  • Act as the primary liaison between engineering, business stakeholders, and IT teams
  • Facilitate workshops and working sessions to drive alignment, clarify requirements, and enable decisions
  • Translate business needs into well-defined functional and technical requirements
  • Influence outcomes by recommending scalable, supportable PLM solutions, aligned to enterprise architecture

Process Design, Standardization & Governance

  • Lead definition and continuous improvement of PLM processes, including:
    • Engineering Change Management (ECR/ECN)
    • Document management and lifecycle control
    • CAD structures, EBOM, and downstream BOM alignment
    • Product data governance and classification
  • Establish and promote PLM governance standards, addressing gaps in adoption and consistency
  • Drive process harmonization across multi-region engineering teams
  • Identify inefficiencies and lead initiatives to improve data quality, traceability, and process clarity

CAD & Engineering Data Management

  • Support integration and alignment of CAD tools (SolidWorks) with PLM systems
  • Define and enforce standards for:
    • CAD file structures and dependencies
    • Revision and version control
    • Metadata and attribute management
  • Partner with engineering teams to resolve challenges related to:
    • Data inconsistency
    • Poor structure or usability
    • Lack of standardization
  • Ensure PLM design supports real-world engineering workflows

Integration Collaboration (PLM Functional Lead)

  • Define and document PLM functional requirements for integrations in partnership with the greater architecture organization including:
    • SAP (material master, BOM, and change processes)
    • MDM platforms (e.g., STIBO)
    • Other upstream/downstream systems
  • Act as the PLM voice in integration design discussions
  • Partner with integration architects and development teams to:
    • Ensure PLM requirements are clearly represented
    • Validate solution alignment with PLM processes and data structures
  • Support testing and validation of integrations to ensure data integrity and process continuity

PLM Configuration & Functional Delivery

  • Primarily functional/system configuration (workflows and attributes), not custom development or platform engineering:
    • Workflow setup and optimization
    • Attribute and data model configuration
  • Support solution validation through:
    • Functional testing
    • Coordination with QA and IT teams
  • Assist in troubleshooting issues and conducting root cause analysis

Adoption, Change Management & Continuous Improvement

  • Drive increased user adoption of PLM tools and standardized processes
  • Develop and support:
    • Training materials
    • Process documentation
    • User guidance and best practices
  • Act as a trusted advisor to business users, helping them navigate PLM capabilities
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on:
    • Adoption
    • Data quality
    • Process efficiency

What You Bring

  • Greater than 8 years of experience working in PLM environments
  • Hands-on exposure to platforms such as:
    • Teamcenter, Centric, or similar PLM systems
  • Strong understanding of:
    • CAD/PLM integrations (e.g., SolidWorks)
    • BOM structures (EBOM, Design BOM)
    • Product data and document lifecycle management
  • Experience working in cross-functional environments bridging business and IT
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders

Preferred

  • Experience supporting global or multi-region engineering organizations
  • Familiarity with SAP integration concepts, including:
    • Material master alignment
    • BOM synchronization
    • Change management processes
  • Exposure to MDM platforms (e.g., STIBO or equivalent)
  • Understanding of integration concepts such as APIs, data mapping, and system interoperability
