Job Description

As a Principal Business Architect, you will deliver internal consulting services and change leadership to enhance the effectiveness of the organization at the enterprise level. Link business strategy to the development of capabilities, people, process, technology, and information. Assist senior leaders with large, complex and/or ambiguous business problems and driving business improvements. Contribute and support the development of the Company’s business architecture based on strategic and tactical enterprise goals and industry-leading Business Architecture practices.

What You'll Do

  • This is a senior-level role emphasizing business consulting, combined with components of strategy, business planning, business architecture management, process engineering, influence and leadership disciplines. This is a highly visible enterprise role that will interact with leaders across the company.

  • Facilitate participative decision making and planning workshops. Workshop participants are typically senior leaders from multiple departments.

  • Provide consulting to senior and mid-level leadership on complex and/or ambiguous business problems, and advise on low-risk/high-value alternatives.

  • Apply business management consulting tools to remove ambiguity, and drive data-driven decisions making and planning (e.g. SWOT, 5 Forces, Scenario Planning, etc.)

  • Contribute to the development of enterprise business architecture models.

  • Apply strategic planning practices to translate strategies into business roadmaps and annual project portfolios

  • Conduct analysis of business current and future states, performance gaps, and their root causes.

  • Understand business behavior patterns and how they work together to enable the business to achieve their strategic and tactical goals.

  • Monitor the business sector, industry, technology, infrastructure, legal and regulatory environment trends. Incorporate the consequences of these trends into actionable recommendations to internal clients.

  • Develop, organize, and execute enterprise business planning processes.

  • Influence senior business leaders in their use of business planning disciplines to achieve business goals.

  • Develop and maintain working relationship with business leaders/strategy owners.

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required)

• 8+ years of experience in related field.

• In lieu of degree, 10+ years of experience in related field.

Where You’ll Work 

Our Hybrid-Flex approach is built on presence with a purpose – giving you flexibility to work remotely with intentional in-person connection – that supports a workplace that’s flexible, connected, and future focused. 

In a Hybrid-Flex role, you’ll work in the office at least two days a week for collaboration and connection. In a Remote-Flex role, you’ll work virtually, with a few in-office visits each year for meaningful moments that matter. 

Whether your role is Hybrid-Flex or Remote-Flex depends on the nature of the work and distance from our Durham headquarters. We welcome candidates from outside the local area and in any states listed on this job posting. Onsite expectations will be discussed during the interview process.

Salary Range

At Blue Cross NC, we take great pride in a fair and equitable compensation package that reflects market-price and our starting salaries are typically planned near the middle of the range listed. Compensation decisions are driven by factors including experience and training, specialized skill sets,  licensure and certifications and other business and organizational needs. Our base salary is part of a robust Total Rewards package that includes an Annual Incentive Bonus*, 401(k) with employer match, Paid Time Off (PTO), and competitive health benefits and wellness programs. 

*Based on annual corporate goal achievement and individual performance.
 

$118,691.00 - $189,906.00
