As a Principal Cybersecurity Architect at JPMorganChase within the Cybersecurity Organization, you provide expertise to enhance and develop architecture platforms based on modern cloud-based technologies as well as support the adoption of strategic global solutions. Leverage your advanced architecture capabilities to identify, communicate, and mitigate risk, and collaborate with colleagues across the organization to drive best-in-class outcomes.


Job responsibilities

  • Advise cross-functional teams on technology selection to achieve target-state cybersecurity goals and drive improvements to current cybersecurity parameters
  • Leverage enterprise-authorized AI capabilities to accelerate cybersecurity architecture analysis, threat and risk assessment, and roadmap decisioning, validating outputs and handling data according to sensitivity and security requirements
  • Develop multi-year roadmaps aligned with business and architecture strategy and priorities
  • Create complex and scalable coding frameworks on the public cloud for new system design patterns and process templates, building durable, reusable software frameworks that improve velocity and quality of output across teams and functions
  • Develop secure and high-quality production code, and review and debug code written by others
  • Serve as the function's go-to subject matter expert, drive thought leadership within the product line, and contribute to the development of technical methods in cybersecurity in line with the latest product development methodologies
  • Drive reuse-first adoption of AI-assisted security validation within software development lifecycle and toolchain routines, improving control testing and remediation quality with traceability, auditability, and resiliency expectations

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on cybersecurity architecture concepts and 10+ years applied experience
  • Hands-on practical experience in cybersecurity architecture with applicability and reusability across business functions and systems
  • Demonstrated experience using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities to support cybersecurity architecture and engineering workflows, with strong validation habits and awareness of data sensitivity
  • Ability to assess and validate AI-assisted security recommendations and AI-enabled design patterns before adoption, escalating uncertainty and ensuring outcomes align to security, resiliency, and auditability expectations
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages
  • Deep knowledge of software and applications, including advanced knowledge of software architecture, application development, and technical processes within one or more technical disciplines (e.g., public cloud, AI/ML, mobile)
  • Experience applying expertise and new methods to determine solutions for complex architecture problems across one or more technical disciplines
  • Ability to present and effectively communicate with senior leaders and executives
  • Ability to advise with business context and maintain knowledge of the latest risk trends in internal and external environments
  • Experience leading a product as a product owner or product manager

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience working in large-scale, highly regulated financial services or enterprise environments
  • Familiarity with zero-trust architecture principles and their application across hybrid and multi-cloud environments
  • Knowledge of industry frameworks such as NIST, SABSA, TOGAF, or equivalent cybersecurity architecture standards
  • Experience collaborating with risk, compliance, and audit functions to align architecture decisions with regulatory requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and influence engineers and architects across organizational boundaries
