Principal IT Systems Analyst

The Role
The Fidelity Fund and Investment Operations (FFIO) technology team is looking for a Principal IT Systems Analyst with advanced product analyst experience to join the FFIO Alternative Investment team and play a critical role in building Alternative Investments platform. This position is ideal for a client obsessed, strategic thinker with deep analytical skills and, who thrives at the intersection of business operations, data and product innovation. Your role will blend leadership and planning expertise with a passion for delivering results. This role requires a self-starter who can champion collaboration and cultivate a close partnership with business and the development teams to help craft and implement solutions on both client and server-side technologies.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience as a product analyst, business analyst, or similar role in a digital or operational transformation environment focused on customer or associate facing solutions.

  • Strong understanding of operations workflows and processes, preferably in financial services or other regulated industry.

  • Ability to translate technical requirements and operational processes into intuitive, actionable product requirements.

  • Demonstrated experience informing product strategy and delivery, including opportunity identification, solution design, and working with technology teams for delivery.

  • Proficient with tools such as JIRA, JIRA Align, Confluence, Miro, or other analytics and product planning tools.

  • Proficient with agile development methodologies and working with cross-functional product teams, engineering teams and business stakeholders.

  • Strong communicator with proven stakeholder management and storytelling skills; effectively conveys in technology terms verbal and written with usage of data and visualizations.

  • Problem-solver that can identify issues, explore solutions and identify next course of action

  • Ability to have hard conversations with business stakeholders thru strong presentation skills of the data and analysis that helps influence the outcome of their decisions.

  • Proven experience with Structured Query Language (SQL) and programming in general.

  • Strong understanding and experience with complex relational database schemas and SQL management tools.

  • Experience building data visualization – Tableau, PowerBI, etc is a plus

  • An understanding and experience with middle-tier/front-end application development (Java, Angular, etc.) is a plus

  • Proven experience working with REST, SOAP, JSON and APIs.

The Team
Fidelity Fund & Investment Operations (FFIO) provides accounting and investment management support services for Fidelity mutual funds and other retail and institutional investment products. These services include calculating and distributing NAVs, distribution rates and yields for a wide variety of investment products, preparing fund financial statements, dividend estimates and tax returns, monitoring delivery of fund trades to custodian banks, processing corporate actions, collecting securities income on behalf of the funds, reconciling, reporting and moving money in support of fund shareholder transactions, and managing fund liquidity.
