About the Job

The Principal Product Manager, Devices Engineering will play a critical role in shaping the future of connected devices at Life360. This PM will drive customer discovery to inform research and development of next-generation hardware experiences and will work to bring those experiences to life. As part of the Devices organization, this role will collaborate closely with hardware engineering, design, firmware, and operations to build new devices and to accelerate innovation across Life360’s device portfolio.
The US-based salary range for this position is $178,500 to $261,500. We take into consideration an individual's background and experience in determining final salary - therefore, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes a wide range of medical, dental, vision, financial, and other benefits, as well as equity.

What You’ll Do

This role requires creating and executing on new hardware devices.  This person needs to be able to:

  1. Can manage a full product vertical or many product verticals (pets, aging in place etc.) through the full lifecycle of the product(s).
  2. Is responsible for identifying customer needs and pain points, developing a compelling vision to solve for their needs, developing a roadmap for their products, and executing deeply.
  3. Works cross functionally to deliver compelling customer value.
  4. Can work across marketing, sales, operations, and more to ensure an end to end growth strategy that goes beyond product development to also consider go-to-market.
  5. Owns the metrics of their product line across customer centric KPIs, margin, revenue, subscription impact, and any other metrics relevant to the success of the product portfolio.
  6. Works with HW and SW teams across the technology stack to make smart trade off decisions, develop comprehensive requirements, develop a compelling UX, and to prioritize work.
  7. Evangelizes the vision for their product, and is the voice of the customer for all aspects of the product experience.
What We’re Looking For
  • 10+ years of product management experience, including 4+ years leading hardware or connected device products from concept to launch
  • Proven success managing full product lifecycles — from customer discovery and roadmap creation through go-to-market and ongoing optimization
  • Strong understanding of both hardware and software development processes, including firmware, mobile app integration, and manufacturing considerations
  • Experience defining product vision and strategy grounded in customer insights, data, and business objectives
  • Ability to synthesize complex trade-offs between user experience, cost, schedule, and technical constraints
  • Demonstrated skill collaborating with cross-functional teams including engineering, design, operations, marketing, and finance
  • Analytical mindset with experience owning KPIs such as margin, attach rate, retention, or subscription conversion
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills — able to evangelize product vision across internal and external audiences
  • Comfort operating at both strategic and tactical levels; can move fluidly from long-term roadmap thinking to day-to-day execution details
  • Experience in fast-paced, high-growth environments; able to lead through ambiguity and drive clarity across teams
