In this pivotal role, you will lead the product and system definition for cutting-edge power solutions. Collaborating cross-functionally with IC design, systems, marketing, and validation teams, you will help shape the future of power for the world's most advanced AI processors and server infrastructure.

Job Description

This role requires multi-disciplinary experience, combining deep understanding of system-level challenges with knowledge of Renesas VR hardware, firmware and software implementation. You will use your understanding of system-level considerations from both the CPU vendors and the cloud/infrastructure customers to steer VR architecture and product definition. You will identify the critical avenues of long-term value creation to support building a durable long-term business. Key responsibilities include:

  • Interface with Renesas engineers, partners and customers to understand big-scope perspective on challenges and value drivers.
  • Translate customer system requirements, including VR performance, configuration and control, and user experience into design requirements.
  • Build critical collateral including product requirements, use cases and system API definition.
  • Work with marketing and design to quantify tradeoffs between features and schedules.

Success in this position requires an ability to translate market understanding to product definition and ultimately proven through market adoption. An ability to understand nuance in customer demands and motivate team members accordingly is required. Excellent communication skills and technical understanding will allow for the influence across functional disciplines required to succeed.

Qualifications

This role requires deep technical strength in high performance power management related to CPUs and other high current ASICs. Broad technical capability/exposure will be combined with excellent technical communication skills. Typical qualifications include:

  • A minimum of 15-20 years of semiconductor and systems experience
  • Experience in product definition of both hardware and software
  • Experience with multiphase DC/DC converters powering Intel/AMD/ARM systems
  • Proficiency in Python, C or other programming language
  • Excellent written communications skills

Education

  • BS degree in engineering (EE – power electronics preferred), with MS degree preferred
