In This Role

In this role, you will design engaging, visually polished content experiences for high-visibility consumer digital surfaces, including AI-generated and personalized news, discovery, and interest-feed experiences. You will own design work end to end for specific feature areas, from early concept exploration through production handoff, while partnering closely with product managers, engineers, content strategists, and design peers.

You will contribute to AI-first content experiences and support the redesign of existing consumer surfaces to better engage a younger audience. This role requires strong visual design craft, comfort working within complex design systems, and the ability to rapidly explore and validate ideas through interactive prototypes, including lightweight coded prototypes when appropriate.

Responsibilities

  • Design expressive, visually compelling features for AI-powered news, discovery, personalization, and interest-feed experiences.
  • Create clear, engaging visual stories that communicate product ideas and design rationale to stakeholders.
  • Own end-to-end design for assigned features, from concept development through final engineering handoff.
  • Partner closely with product managers, engineers, content strategists, and cross-functional stakeholders to define problems, explore solutions, and align on scope.
  • Work effectively within an established design system to deliver cohesive, scalable, and production-ready designs.
  • Create designs and prototypes in Figma to validate interaction flows, usability, and visual direction.
  • Build or collaborate on lightweight interactive prototypes, including coded prototypes when needed, to test and communicate ideas.
  • Apply a sharp eye for detail to ensure pixel-perfect execution, visual quality, and strong fit and finish across releases.
  • Collaborate with motion designers to integrate animation, transitions, and micro-interactions that improve usability and delight.
  • Present work in design reviews, incorporate feedback, and clearly articulate the rationale behind visual decisions.
  • Stay current on emerging design trends, AI capabilities, prototyping tools, and consumer content behaviors to inform innovative product experiences.

Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of professional experience designing digital products, with strong proficiency in Figma, component systems, interaction flows, and prototyping.
  • Strong portfolio required, showcasing polished visual design work for consumer-facing digital products.
  • Strong background in visual design, including layout, typography, color, iconography, interaction design, and visual storytelling.
  • Experience designing and shipping consumer-facing digital products, with an understanding of engagement, usability, and scale.
  • Experience working within complex design systems and delivering cohesive, scalable product experiences.
  • Ability to independently deliver design work from concept through production handoff.
  • Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including product, engineering, content, and design stakeholders.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, iterative product environment with evolving priorities and deadlines.
  • Familiarity with prototyping tools and workflows, including interactive prototypes used to validate and communicate design ideas.
  • At least 1 year of experience or demonstrated comfort with lightweight coded prototyping, vibe coding, or front-end technologies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual communication, fine arts, product design, or a related field preferred; equivalent practical experience will also be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing AI-powered, personalized, news, feed, discovery, or content-consumption experiences.
  • Experience designing for high-traffic consumer products or surfaces used at large scale.
  • Strong visual design craft with examples of beautiful, clean, easy-to-use, production-quality work.
  • Portfolio that demonstrates experimentation, tinkering, technical curiosity, and non-boilerplate design thinking.
  • Experience using generative AI tools such as Figma Make, MidJourney, DALL·E, Runway, or similar tools.
  • Motion design experience using tools such as After Effects, Principle, Lottie, or similar.
  • Understanding of UX animation principles, micro-interactions, and motion patterns that enhance usability.
  • Familiarity with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or similar tools used to prototype product ideas.
  • Experience rapidly exploring multiple concepts, incorporating feedback, and improving design quality over time.
  • Ability to ramp quickly, take ownership of a feature area, and maintain a consistent cadence of high-quality design output.
