Role

Reporting to the Project Controls Manager, the Project Controller is responsible for the day-to-day implementation of project controls functions during all stages of the project lifecycle. The Project Controller is responsible for maintaining the integrity of all data within the construction management software (budgets, spends, forecasts) and to create accurate financial reports for both internal and external stakeholders. The Project Controller will also support the Project Managers in schedule adjustments and change management.


Responsibilities

  • Lead the continual development and standardization of project controls at Rising Edge
  • Project Controllers are responsible for updating each assigned project on a weekly basis to validate the accuracy of Hard Dollar (HD) data. Specifically, Project Controllers are responsible for monitoring and updating:
    • budget;
    • cost to date;
    • variances; and
    • cost forecasts (trending data)
    • cash flow
  • Provide consolidated financial reports; including milestone summaries, earned value analysis, cost incurred, and accruals
  • Understand contract financial terms and conditions, invoice schedules, and invoice documentation (Statutory Declaration, Waiver of Claims, etc.). Responsible for invoice review and approval
  • Responsible for ensuring that the HD & VP projects are setup in accordance with the contract arrangement and documentation provided by the client.
  • Review and approval of timesheets

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education or diploma in Finance, Accounting or Business Management is required.
  • Experience as a project controller in an engineering/construction industry would be an asset but is not required.
  • Accreditations such as from the PCI, PMI, or AACE (such as EVM, CCP, CAPM, PMP, etc.) will be considered an asset.
  • Experience in scheduling software (Primavera P6 preferred) and construction management software (Hard Dollar and Viewpoint) an asset
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite 365, specifically Word, Excel, and SharePoint are highly desired
