As a Project Manager in the Office of the CFO, you'll oversee cross-functional projects, develop executive presentations, and support FinOps leadership meetings while ensuring operational efficiency within the team.
The summary above was generated by AI

The Office of the CFO at MongoDB is a small, high-impact team that drives operational excellence and strategic execution across the FinOps organization. We manage the operating rhythm for FinOps leadership, track performance against annual objectives, and serve as the connective tissue between Finance and the rest of the business.

As a Project Manager, Office of the CFO, you will be part of the operational backbone of this team. Reporting to the Chief of Staff to the CFO, you will drive content development for leadership meetings and presentations, manage cross-functional projects, and keep the FinOps organization running on rhythm. You will be in the room for key leadership discussions and will have regular exposure to MongoDB's CFO and his direct reports.

This role is ideal for someone who is execution-oriented, thrives in fast-paced environments with competing priorities, and takes pride in turning ambiguity into structure. You don't need to have all the answers — but you need to be the kind of person who figures things out, moves fast, and never drops a ball.

This role is based in MongoDB's Austin, TX office.

What You'll Do

Content Development & Executive Support

  • Develop executive-quality decks, documents, and presentation content for FinOps leadership meetings, All Hands, offsites, and other CFO presentations
  • Take rough direction or early-stage ideas and translate them into polished, clearly structured narratives ready for a senior audience
  • Support earnings prep and Board meeting content development as part of the quarterly cycle

Program & Project Management

  • Drive the end-to-end coordination of company-wide MBRs and QBRs — managing timelines, reviewing content, tracking follow-up actions, and ensuring accountability
  • Project-manage cross-functional strategic initiatives — owning timelines, milestones, stakeholder coordination, and status reporting
  • Manage the logistics and content development for quarterly FinOps All Hands and leadership offsites
  • Maintain the "source of truth" for the status of major FinOps initiatives, providing the Chief of Staff and CFO with clear visibility into progress, risks, and blockers

Operational Support & Analysis

  • Develop and maintain dashboards and trackers for FinOps annual objectives and KPIs
  • Build and maintain operational infrastructure — templates, calendars, central repositories — that make the FinOps org run more smoothly
  • Drive process evolution — proactively identify operational bottlenecks and design scalable solutions to improve the FinOps’ operating system
  • Strategic troubleshooting  — serve as a ‘utility player’ for high-priority, urgent initiatives that fall outside standard workstreams
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in management consulting, business operations, FP&A, strategic finance, or a similar role in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong program management instincts — you are highly organized and can juggle multiple workstreams simultaneously, keep things moving, and hold people accountable without formal authority
  • Excellent communication & executive presence — your emails are crisp, your follow-ups are clear, and your documents are polished; you’re also able to interact with senior leadership, “manage up” effectively, and maintain composure in high-pressure situations
  • High adaptability and low ego — you're excited to work on a high-visibility strategic initiative in the morning and build a project tracker in the afternoon. No task is beneath you if it helps the team win
  • Exceptional content development skills — you can build a clear, compelling, executive-ready deck from scratch. You think in structure and narrative, not just bullet points
  • Highly trustworthy —  you understand the need to exercise discretion when working on confidential projects
  • Financial fluency — you don't need to be a CPA, but you're comfortable operating inside a finance organization and working with financial concepts, KPIs, and business metrics
  • Ideal candidate will be based in Austin, TX and able to work from MongoDB’s Austin, TX office
