Be an Early Applicant
Supports a 12-week project to standardize Quality Management System documentation across four EVBS sites. Responsibilities include auditing existing documents, designing SharePoint architecture, establishing naming and version-control standards, mapping permissions, migrating content, creating governance guides, coordinating with site Quality leaders, and presenting project results. The role provides hands-on exposure to ISO 9001, IATF 16949, document control, and automotive EV battery quality operations.
About the Role
EVBS is seeking a motivated intern to join the Quality Department for a 12-week summer engagement focused on organizing and standardizing our Quality Management System (QMS) documentation across all four EVBS sites: Atlanta, Las Vegas, Detroit, and Oklahoma City. This is a hands-on, high-visibility project that directly supports our ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 certification efforts and improves how quality teams, auditors, and site leadership access and maintain controlled documents.
The intern will design and build a logical, consistent SharePoint site structure for QMS content - folder taxonomy, naming conventions, document control workflows, and metadata/tagging - so that procedures, work instructions, forms, records, and audit evidence are easy to locate and consistently maintained at every site.

Key Responsibilities
- Audit and inventory existing QMS documentation and SharePoint content at all four EVBS sites to identify gaps, duplication, and inconsistencies.
- Design a standardized, logical folder and library structure for QMS documents (e.g., quality manual, procedures, work instructions, forms, records, audit files) that scale across sites and certification levels (ISO 9001 / IATF 16949).
- Establish consistent naming conventions, version control practices, and metadata/tagging to support document control and traceability.
- Map document ownership and access/permission structures by role and site, in coordination with local Quality leads.
- Migrate or reorganize existing content into the new structure, preserving revision history and controlled-document status where required.
- Develop simple reference guides or a short training aid (in collaboration with Document Control Specialist) so site Quality teams can maintain the structure after the internship ends.
- Partner with Quality leaders at each site (including the Quality team's direct reports) to validate the structure meets day-to-day and audit-readiness needs.
- Provide regular progress updates and a final readout summarizing the new structure, migration status, and recommendations for ongoing governance.
Deliverables
- A documented, standardized SharePoint site architecture for QMS content, deployable across all four EVBS sites.
- A completed (or substantially completed) migration of existing QMS documentation into the new structure.
- A short governance/maintenance guide for document control, naming, and permissions.
- A final presentation summarizing approach, structure, and recommendations for leadership.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Information Systems, Industrial/Systems Engineering, Quality/Operations Management, or similar).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; comfortable working with large volumes of documents and files.
- Familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint and the broader Microsoft 365 environment (Teams, Excel, PowerPoint); prior SharePoint site-building experience is a plus.
- Basic understanding of, or interest in, quality management systems and document control concepts (ISO 9001, IATF 16949) - training will be provided.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to work independently and coordinate with stakeholders across multiple sites and time zones.
- Comfortable with some travel or virtual coordination across Atlanta, Las Vegas, Detroit, and Oklahoma City sites.
What You'll Gain
- Direct, hands-on experience supporting a multi-site automotive Quality Management System.
- Exposure to ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 quality standards in a real manufacturing/EV battery operations environment.
- Practical SharePoint information architecture and document control experience.
- Cross-functional collaboration with Quality leaders and site teams across the EVBS network.
- Mentorship from EVBS Quality/OpEx leadership and visibility into a growing, technology-forward business unit.
