The Regional Sales Manager leads and develops a high-performing team within an assigned region while also operating as a hands-on territory leader. This role is responsible for delivering regional revenue growth, strengthening account performance, and driving consistent execution of sales strategy in the field.
 
Balancing leadership and direct customer engagement, this role uses data, market insight, and strong coaching to improve individual and team performance, expand key accounts, and ensure a high standard of execution across the region.

In This Role

  • Develop and execute ongoing performance management practices with clear KPIs: focusing on coaching, ride-alongs, sales skill development, and consistent accountability to drive sales growth
  • Optimize sales territories by assessing market potential, account expansion, competitive activity, and historical trends to ensure balanced coverage and strategic focus on high-value opportunities
  • Maintain an active presence in the field through to support accounts within the region by conducting regular customer visits, building strong relationships, identifying growth opportunities, and serving as the point of escalation for complex or high-impact customer needs
  • Conduct comprehensive workload and territory productivity assessments to identify gaps, remove roadblocks, and recommend resourcing or process adjustments to improve efficiency
  • Establish and maintain consistent processes for tracking and reporting performance, including revenue growth, new customer acquisition, share of wallet (SOW), and pipeline health
  • Leverage Salesforce (CRM) and reporting tools to monitor activity, manage forecasts, and ensure data accuracy that supports decision making at both the team and regional level Identify emerging market and customer trends through field engagement, competitive intelligence, and customer feedback—translating insights into targeted sales initiatives that unlock new business opportunities and expand market share
  • Execute and support change management initiatives by modeling new processes in the field, training the team, and ensuring successful adoption of sales transformation programs
  • Strengthen cross-functional communication by collaborating closely with marketing, operations, customer service, and product teams to ensure seamless customer experiences and efficient execution of regional strategies
  • Support onboarding and ongoing development of sales representatives through hands-on coaching, territory planning guidance, and real-world selling best practices
  • Own regional revenue targets and team quota attainment, driving consistent performance against goals
  • Travel regularly within region and attend key markets (4) as required (approximately 70% travel in field to visit Account Executives and Customers)

Leadership and Team Management  

  • Supervise and lead employee(s), ensuring efficient and effective operations  
  • Provide coaching, training, and mentorship to team members, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge required to perform their jobs effectively  
  • Monitor team performance, provide feedback, and ensure that company policies and procedures are followed  
  • Promote a positive and collaborative team environment, encouraging employee engagement and teamwork  
  • Work in partnership with other Sales leadership to drive consistency across National Sales team 
  • Foster strong communication within the team, ensuring clarity of roles, expectations, and goals  
  • Identify and address skill gaps or performance issues promptly, implementing development opportunities and support plans as needed  
  • Encourage innovation by involving team members in problem-solving and process improvement initiatives  

The Ideal Person

  • 5+ years of sales experience, with at least 3+ years leading a regional or territory-based sales tea
  • Proven track record of delivering revenue growth and expanding key accounts within a defined region
  • Experience managing territory strategy, including account segmentation, coverage models, and market prioritization
  • Strong coaching capability with experience developing Account Representatives through ride-alongs, feedback, and skill-building
  • Experience working within a CRM (Salesforce preferred), including pipeline management, forecasting, and reporting
  • Ability to translate sales data and market insights into clear actions that improve performance
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to assess opportunity, risk, and return across accounts and territories
  • Excellent relationship-building skills with both customers and internal partners
  • Ability to operate both strategically and tactically—comfortable shifting between team leadership and direct selling
  • Strong organizational and execution skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities across a region
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 70%, including attending key markets
