Why the Sales Support Specialist Role at Steno Is Different

This is a new position at Steno, built specifically to amplify the output of our highest-performing Account Executives. It's not a traditional admin or coordinator role — it's an apprenticeship model. You'll work shoulder-to-shoulder with Senior Account Executives (SAE) helping to manage a $10M+ book of business, take real ownership of client relationship logistics, and support the SAEs with the administrative responsibilities that come with large, diverse books of business.

You'll own:

  • Client Relationship Operations – Manage the SAE's full client engagement calendar (birthdays, firm anniversaries, case closings, follow-up cadences); source, order, package, and deliver gifts, food, swag, and event tickets on time and on-brand; handle end-to-end logistics for lunch-and-learns, sporting events, and client happy hours, from invitation through post-event follow-up
  • Prospecting & Research – Identify net-new firms, new attorneys within existing accounts, and referral opportunities using proprietary and external tools (e.g. LinkedIn); monitor active cases for copy order follow-up opportunities and track counsel involvement; deliver research-backed warm leads to the SAE
  • Communications & Scheduling – Own some post-meeting follow-up emails, rate card delivery, and certain outbound communications on behalf of the SAE (with SAE review and approval); book and coordinate meetings with internal and external stakeholders; execute drop-offs and drop-ins at smaller client offices to maintain relationship warmth
  • CRM & Operational Hygiene – Keep HubSpot current (contact enrichment, meeting notes, activity logging, follow-up reminders, pipeline reporting); proactively flag gaps and close them before being asked

What this role is not: You will not own accounts or carry a book of business, you will not communicate with clients or prospects without explicit SAE approval, and you will not attend in-person client events unless requested by the SAE. These aren't restrictions on ambition — they're guardrails that protect the relationships you're helping to build.

You'll crush this role if: You have 1–3 years of experience in sales, sales/business development, sales support, legal, or client-facing operations (or a strong internship record with demonstrable initiative), you have exceptional organizational skills, you communicate clearly and professionally in writing, you're comfortable with CRM tools (HubSpot experience a plus) and eager to learn new tech quickly, and you can work independently with high judgment — the SAE shouldn't have to manage your priorities. A genuine interest in a sales career is a must; this role is designed as a launchpad, and we'll invest in you accordingly.

 Hourly Wage + Discretionary Bonus

  • Cash Compensation: $33-$40/hr, plus eligibility for a discretionary bonus based on individual and company performance.
