Job Summary

HR Path is seeking an experienced SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll (ECP) Consultant/Manager to lead our SAP payroll consulting practice and serve as the senior subject matter expert for payroll technology solutions. This role is responsible for managing and mentoring a team of SAP payroll consultants while providing strategic guidance, solution leadership, and delivery oversight for SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll (ECP) implementations, enhancements, support engagements, and payroll transformations.The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll, payroll configuration, compliance requirements, integrations, and client advisory services. This individual will work closely with clients, project teams, managed payroll services teams, and internal leadership to deliver high-quality payroll technology solutions that align with business objectives and regulatory requirements.While this role partners with payroll operations teams and may provide guidance on payroll processing issues, its primary focus is SAP payroll consulting, solution delivery, team leadership, and payroll technology expertise rather than direct ownership of payroll processing operations. This is a fully remote position and can be based in the United States or Canada. 


Job Responsibilities

SAP Payroll Consulting Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of SAP SuccessFactors Payroll consultants across implementation, support, and optimization engagements.
  • Serve as the senior subject matter expert for SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll (ECP).
  • Provide solution leadership and oversight across multiple client engagements.
  • Establish consulting standards, delivery methodologies, and best practices for SAP payroll solutions.
  • Support staffing, resource planning, team development, and consultant performance management.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex SAP payroll configuration, integration, and compliance issues.

SAP SuccessFactors ECP Solution Delivery

  • Lead the design, configuration, and optimization of SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll solutions.
  • Review and guide payroll schema, rules, wage types, payroll calculations, and country-specific payroll requirements.
  • Support full lifecycle implementations including discovery, design, build, testing, deployment, and post-production support.
  • Advise clients on payroll transformation strategies and roadmap planning.
  • Ensure payroll solutions align with business requirements, compliance obligations, and SAP best practices.
  • Provide quality assurance and solution reviews for project deliverables.

Client Advisory & Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients on payroll technology strategy and SAP payroll capabilities.
  • Partner with HR, Payroll, Finance, and IT stakeholders to identify and resolve payroll system challenges.
  • Facilitate client workshops, solution design sessions, and executive-level discussions.
  • Present recommendations, risks, and solution options to project sponsors and leadership teams.
  • Support business development activities, proposals, and solution estimations for new opportunities.

Payroll Technology & Integration Management

  • Provide leadership for payroll system enhancements, upgrades, releases, and platform optimization initiatives.
  • Oversee integration design and troubleshooting between Employee Central, ECP, Benefits, Time Management, Finance, and third-party solutions.
  • Support payroll system testing strategies, defect resolution, and deployment activities.
  • Ensure data integrity, reporting accuracy, and payroll system performance.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to address complex integration and configuration requirements.

Managed Payroll Services Support

  • Partner with HR Path's Managed Payroll Services teams on escalated payroll technology-related issues.
  • Provide expert guidance on SAP payroll configuration, payroll calculation logic, retroactivity, and system behavior.
  • Assist in resolving complex client payroll issues where SAP ECP expertise is required.
  • Support transition activities for clients moving between implementation and managed services.

Compliance & Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain deep expertise in payroll regulations and their impact on SAP payroll configurations.
  • Advise teams and clients on compliance requirements impacting payroll system design.
  • Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes through automation and SAP functionality.
  • Stay current on SAP SuccessFactors Payroll innovations, releases, and industry best practices.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across payroll technology delivery services.



Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of SAP Payroll experience, including significant hands-on experience with SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll (ECP).
  • 3+ years of people leadership experience managing consulting, implementation, or support teams.
  • Deep expertise in payroll schemas, rules, wage types, payroll processing logic, retroactive accounting, and payroll troubleshooting.
  • Experience leading SAP ECP implementations, upgrades, payroll transformations, or managed services engagements.
  • Strong understanding of payroll compliance requirements and how they translate into payroll system configuration.
  • Experience managing client relationships and serving as a trusted advisor.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll integrations and interfaces between HR, Time, Benefits, and Finance systems.
  • Excellent analytical, leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and priorities in a consulting environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll certification.
  • SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central certification.
  • Experience leading SAP payroll consulting practices or delivery teams.
  • Experience supporting multi-country payroll environments.
  • Knowledge of SAP Time Management, Employee Central, and SuccessFactors platform capabilities.
  • Experience working in a professional services, consulting, or systems integrator environment.
  • Experience supporting Managed Payroll Services organizations.
  • Knowledge of SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), integrations, and payroll reporting solutions.
  • Experience with payroll migrations from legacy payroll systems to SAP ECP.
  • Experience supporting sales pursuits, solutioning, and pre-sales activities.
