Work at the heart of a modern payments environment where product, operations, technology, and controls converge to shape the future of banking. Join a fast-paced team focused on cross-border payments and wires, helping strengthen the control environment while advancing international payment priorities—such as alias-based experiences, modernized rails, and emerging capabilities (including blockchain-enabled concepts where applicable). This is an opportunity to take ownership of complex, ambiguous problems and turn them into clear workstreams and practical solutions. You’ll partner across functions to deliver timely, well-documented outcomes that are right for customers and sustainable for the business.

As a Senior Associate within a cross-border payments and wires team, you’ll help strengthen governance and controls while supporting key leadership priorities. You will break down complex problems, apply analytical rigor and data intuition to diagnose root causes, and align stakeholders on actions that improve customer outcomes. You’ll manage high-judgment correction work end-to-end with disciplined documentation and follow-through. You’ll also help translate business questions into scalable reporting and insights that improve transparency and decision-making.

Job responsibilities

  • Own and drive the controls and governance framework for cross-border payments and wires, including control design/enhancement, documentation, evidencing, and ongoing monitoring routines
  • Identify, assess, and escalate product, operational, and technology risks; conduct root-cause analysis and drive remediation plans through sustainable resolution
  • Partner with legal, risk, and compliance partners, as well as Operations, Technology, Product, and other stakeholders to align deliverables, clarify ownership, and ensure consistent execution against policy, standards, and control expectations
  • Lead problem decomposition for complex initiatives and recurring breaks, translating ambiguity into structured analyses, hypotheses, and action plans
  • Work complex correction cases and high-impact exceptions end-to-end with a strong customer focus, ensuring timely resolution, clear documentation, and feedback loops into process and product fixes
  • Partner with analytics teams to automate manual reporting, translating business questions into scalable dashboards and recurring insights
  • Develop performance insights and narratives using data by defining and tracking KPIs and KRIs, identifying drivers of trends, quantifying customer impact, and communicating recommendations to senior stakeholders
  • Support modernization initiatives through impact assessments, requirements gathering, operating model considerations, and change management support to ensure changes land safely and sustainably
  • Drive process and tooling improvements that reduce operational risk and improve customer outcomes (e.g., reduced exception volumes, improved investigation turnaround times, stronger straight-through processing, improved resilience)

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in payments, product strategy, operations, controls/risk management, transformation, or a closely related role within financial services
  • Proven ability to identify, assess, and escalate risk and control issues with a strong governance mindset and disciplined remediation follow-through
  • Strong analytical capability and data intuition, with the ability to translate operational and product signals into root cause, actions, and measurable outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to handle complex, high-judgment cases (including correction scenarios) with a customer-first mindset and strong documentation practices
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce concise, decision-ready updates and influence stakeholders without direct authority
  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder management across Product, Operations, Technology, and control partners; comfort operating in ambiguity and driving alignment
  • Ability to execute under pressure, manage tight timelines, prioritize effectively, and maintain high attention to detail
