SUMMARY: 

The Senior Business Analyst will support Lilly in defining, expanding, and documenting the business, process, and data requirements for Lilly Direct. This role will translate business objectives into clear, traceable documentation; capture the rationale for proposed changes; and define the information Lilly will gather to support decisions, operations, and future enhancements. The ideal candidate combines deep business analysis expertise with direct-to-consumer digital pharmacy experience and strong documentation capabilities.

HIERARCHY:

Senior-level individual contributor who partners with Lilly business, product, technology, data, compliance, and delivery stakeholders. The role is expected to continue through January 2028, with potential to extend.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Lead discovery and analysis activities supporting the expansion of Lilly Direct.
  • Elicit, analyze, validate, prioritize, and document business, functional, nonfunctional, process, and data requirements.
  • Document the business rationale, assumptions, dependencies, impacts, risks, and expected outcomes associated with proposed changes.
  • Define and document the data Lilly will gather, including business purpose, source, ownership, usage, quality expectations, and traceability.
  • Create current-state and future-state process models, data models, workflows, use cases, decision documentation, requirements specifications, and supporting artifacts.
  • Facilitate workshops and working sessions with cross-functional stakeholders to clarify needs, resolve gaps, and build alignment.
  • Translate complex business and technical information into clear documentation for business, product, technical, and leadership audiences.
  • Maintain requirements traceability and support backlog refinement, acceptance criteria development, change control, testing, implementation readiness, and post-launch validation.
  • Partner with Product Owners and Agile delivery teams to sequence work, clarify requirements, and support value-based prioritization.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend practical, data-informed solutions.
  • Ensure documentation remains current, controlled, reviewable, and suitable for decision-making and audit or compliance needs.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree in Business Analysis or a relevant field.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 10 or more years of experience as a Business Analyst, including senior-level responsibility for complex initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience in the direct-to-consumer digital pharmacy industry.
  • Proven experience producing high-quality business, process, requirements, and data documentation.
  • Experience working across business, digital product, technology, data, and delivery teams.
  • Experience with Jira required
  • Agile Product Owner experience is preferred.
  • Advanced data and process modeling experience is preferred.
  • Technical writing experience is preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex business and technical information; create clear and precise documentation; and communicate effectively with business, technical, product, and executive stakeholders. Professional proficiency in written and spoken English is required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong documentation skills with the ability to organize complex information into concise, structured, and traceable artifacts.
  • Ability to connect business rationale, requirements, processes, data, and intended outcomes.
  • Proficiency with business analysis techniques such as stakeholder analysis, requirements elicitation, process mapping, data modeling, use cases, user stories, acceptance criteria, and traceability.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and deliver high-quality work in a collaborative client environment.
  • Ability to facilitate discussions, challenge assumptions constructively, and drive decisions to closure.
  • Working knowledge of Agile delivery practices; Product Owner experience is a plus.
  • Experience with common documentation, process modeling, backlog management, and collaboration tools.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Regular use of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment. Regular, repetitive movements such as typing, mouse movements, and scrolling. Ability to hear and understand spoken communications, both in person and via remote communication tools (e.g., phone, video conferencing). Ability to see and read computer screens and printed documents, as well as adjust focus. This includes prolonged periods of looking at a computer screen.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The role is performed primarily in a remote or administrative office environment and requires frequent collaboration through phone, video conferencing, messaging, and shared digital workspaces. Work may also occur at a client or company location when business needs require.

EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:

Full-time schedule aligned with client and project needs. Occasional work outside standard business hours may be required to support key milestones, workshops, or releases. 

TRAVEL:

Limited travel may be required for client meetings, planning sessions, workshops, or other business needs.
