Job Description

At Wise, we’ve got a clear mission — money without borders. Built by and for people who live global lives. We’re looking for an experienced professional to join our Commercial Pricing team. The team is responsible for helping ensure that Wise grows sustainably, and for ensuring our customers pay fair and transparent fees.

Reporting into the Head of Commercial Pricing for Wise.com, your role will be to ensure that we make the best commercial decisions for Wise and our customers, with a specific focus on our North American markets which include the United States and Canada.

What you will do

  • Pricing sits at the core of our Mission at Wise - you will work with a cross functional team including Finance, Product and Marketing to develop and refine our overall pricing strategy

  • Have a deep understanding of the value our products bring, our costs and product margins and work with product teams to determine the most effective pricing to deliver the  Mission

  • Build pricing proposals on new products and revisit prices for existing products based on the value they generate for customers and our strategic objectives

  • Understand how our pricing impacts our company financials and customer level profitability

  • Evaluate the commercial rationale for pricing experiments proposed by the business, as well as working with product to prioritize and design

  • Run our quarterly pricing process engaging with all stakeholders across the business to ensure our pricing is accurate, timely and transparent

  • Communicate pricing developments within the organization

  • Build effective pricing frameworks and processes to ensure we can make decisions quickly and as flexibly as possible, particularly when expanding our product suite

  • Partner with local teams in Northam and coordinate across various departments, including utilizing backing and support from teams in Europe

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years experience experience in Pricing in a fast-paced related industry

  • A strong business background, ideally with a mix of corporate, consulting and startup/fintech experience

  • Experience in cost attribution and allocation across products verticals

  • Ideally experience in the payments industry - familiarity with payment interchange schemes

  • Strategic thinking: able to create long term plans for growth and translate them into actions

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and operating in a ‘test and learn’ culture, with a very high level autonomy and accountability

  • Ability to thrive in a very fast paced, scale up environment, and not be afraid to roll your sleeves up to make things happen
